Caretos de Podense - Portugal

Hello everyone, I hope you are all well 😊 I know I've been a bit absent around here. Today I'm here to finish telling you about my visit to Podence 😊 Podence is a small village full of surprises. I really enjoyed getting to know this little village here in Portugal. I highly recommend you visit it.

The village walls are covered in graffiti, and I think it really brings it to life. In this image, you can see a red mask with a Podence costume. In this small village, every wall tells a story.

It fascinates me to see that this village has a well-preserved tradition and a deep connection with its cultural roots.

During our visit, I saw this truck full of straw parked next to an ancient stone wall. Straw is still very important in agricultural work today. In this village, time seems to move at a different pace than in the city.

Further ahead I saw a small cafe, which was closed, but I thought the name Facanito was funny. It's impossible not to stop and admire these wonderful things.

Further ahead I see another mask of grimaces with the costume, it seemed like it was at the window and was trying to scare people, it seems like the image is going to come out of the wall and join the party 🤣

This mural is so colorful, everyone who passes by is captivated. It gives you a good understanding of the culture of this small village 😊

In this image below, we see two men playing instruments. During Carnival, caretos typically use instruments to make noise in the streets, so this image makes a lot of sense.

In this image below, you can see another typical village facade. This place is a meeting place for the villagers. The colorful mask on the wall represents another cultural touch to the village.

Olá a todos, espero que estejam bem 😊 Sei que tenho andado um pouco ausente por aqui. Hoje estou aqui para terminar de contar a vocês sobre a minha visita a Podence 😊 Podence é uma pequena vila cheia de surpresas. Gostei muito de conhecer esta pequena vila aqui em Portugal. Recomendo muito que a visitem.

Os muros da vila estão cobertos de grafite, e acho que isso realmente dá vida à vila. Nesta imagem, você pode ver uma máscara vermelha com uma fantasia de Podence. Nesta pequena vila, cada muro conta uma história.

Fico fascinada ao ver que esta vila tem uma tradição bem preservada e uma profunda conexão com suas raízes culturais.

Durante a nossa visita, vi este caminhão cheio de palha estacionado ao lado de um antigo muro de pedra. A palha ainda é muito importante no trabalho agrícola hoje em dia. Nesta vila, o tempo parece passar em um ritmo diferente do que na cidade.

Mais à frente, vi um pequeno café, que estava fechado, mas achei o nome Facanito engraçado. É impossível não parar e admirar essas coisas maravilhosas.

Mais a frente vejo outra máscara de caretas com a fantasia, parecia que estava na janela e estava tentando assustar as pessoas, parece que a imagem vai sair da parede e entrar na festa 🤣

Este mural é tão colorido que todos que passam por ele ficam encantados. Ele proporciona uma boa compreensão da cultura desta pequena vila 😊

Na imagem abaixo, vemos dois homens tocando instrumentos. Durante o Carnaval, os caretos costumam usar instrumentos para fazer barulho nas ruas, então esta imagem faz muito sentido.

Na imagem abaixo, você pode ver outra fachada típica de vilarejo. Este local é um ponto de encontro para os moradores. A máscara colorida na parede representa outro toque cultural do vilarejo.
