Discovering the beauty of La Marroquina and Guaquira - Yaracuy - Venezuela [Eng/Esp]

Happy day to everyone and happy holidays, dear friends of the community; I really hope you are having a good time. For my part, I want to share with you all my second adventure to a very special place. For lovers of art, paintings, chocolate, and nature, I am sure it would be an ideal place to visit, so today I want to share a little about Guaquira and La Marroquina. I hope you enjoy my writing and the photographs.

Feliz día para todos y felices fiestas, queridos amigos de la comunidad; realmente espero que la estén pasando bien. Por mi parte, quiero compartirles a todos mi segunda aventura a un lugar bastante especial; para los amantes del arte, las pinturas, el chocolate y la naturaleza, estoy seguro de que sería un lugar idóneo para visitar, por eso, el día de hoy quiero compartirles un poco sobre Guaquira y La Marroquina. Espero que disfruten de mi escrito y de las fotografías.

First, I should mention that La Marroquina is quite remote; getting there can be a bit complicated, but it is located in Yaracuy, which is the state where I live in Venezuela. It's a relatively short trip if you know the shortcuts; otherwise, it can be a bit complicated due to the distance of the roads, some intersections, and other things, but you won't get lost, and I'm sure you'll know perfectly well when you arrive; you'll start to see art everywhere.

La Marroquina was not always a place full of art, but let's say that thanks to the conviction of different artists and their union with Guaquira, they made the town begin to tell a story just by looking at it, keeping traditions alive and also showing what defines it, both the place and the people, thus becoming a place that is quite visited and appreciated by the different people who go there; whether for whatever reason, they always end up falling in love with these beautiful works of art, the nature, and the warm people you meet there.

Primero debo decir que La Marroquina es un lugar bastante alejado; para llegar puede ser un poco complicado, pero se encuentra en Yaracuy, que es el estado en el que vivo en Venezuela. Es un viaje relativamente corto si te sabes los atajos; de lo contrario, puede ser un poco complicado por la distancia de las carreteras, algunos cruces y demás cosas, pero no te perderás y estoy seguro de que sabrás perfectamente cuándo llegues; empiezas a ver arte por todos lados.

La Marroquina no siempre fue un lugar lleno de arte, pero digamos que gracias a la convicción de diferentes artistas y la unión junto a Guaquira, hicieron que el pueblo empezara a contar una historia con solo verlo, mantener vivas las tradiciones y también mostrar aquello que los define, tanto al lugar como a las personas, siendo así un lugar bastante visitado y a la par apreciado por las diferentes personas que van; ya sea por cualquier motivo, siempre se terminan enamorando de estas hermosas obras de arte, la naturaleza y las cálidas personas que te encuentras allí.

I had already been there a couple of months ago to accompany a friend, and this time it was for the same reason, but with the difference that we didn't go directly to Guaquira. Instead, we enjoyed a short tour of La Marroquina, getting to know and appreciating the different murals that decorate people's houses, because yes, these murals are part of the homes of those who live there, and it's a nice way to become part of the community. Let's just say that not everywhere can you say that the inhabitants proudly display their homes because of the beautiful illustrations they have, and that beyond showing animals that you also find in nearby places, there are also murals to honor people who live in the community.

Now that we have explained a little about Marroquina, let's talk about Guaquira, which is usually the final destination for people. It is divided into two areas; the first is where we find the manufacture and processing of cocoa to make chocolate, one of the things that drives the market in our state, because we have incredible quality for it and the people who work with cocoa undoubtedly appreciate doing so, enjoy their work, and you can tell by the love with which they tell their stories. In this place, you can see many paintings that make up the place, and in all of them, you can see drawings related to cacao and chocolate, because it is a fundamental part of this place.

Yo ya había ido hace un par de meses para acompañar a una amiga y en esta ocasión fue por la misma razón, pero con la diferencia de que, no llegamos directamente a Guaquira, sino que, disfrutamos de un pequeño tour por la marroquina, conociendo y apreciando los diferentes murales que decoran las casas de las personas, porque sí, estos murales son parte de los hogares de quienes viven allí y es una linda forma de hacerse parte de la comunidad, digamos que no en todos lados se puede decir que los habitantes muestran con orgullo sus hogares por las bellas ilustraciones que tienen y que más allá de mostrar animales que encuentras también en lugares cercanos, también hay murales para honrar a personas que viven en la comunidad.

Ahora bien, una vez explicado un poco sobre la marroquina, hablemos de Guaquira, que suele ser el punto final al que las personas llegan. Se divide en dos zonas; la primera es una donde encontramos la fabricación y proceso del cacao para convertir en chocolate, una de las cosas que mueve mucho el mercado de nuestro estado, porque contamos con una calidad increíble para ello y las personas que trabajan con el cacao sin duda aprecian hacerlo, disfrutan su trabajo y se nota por el amor con el que cuentan sus anécdotas. En este lugar puedes ver muchas pinturas que conforman el lugar y en todas se aprecian dibujos relacionados con el cacao y el chocolate, porque es parte fundamental de este lugar.

The other area that is also part of Guaquira is the park, a place where you can go for a walk, connect with nature, and disconnect from the stress of everyday life. It has a trail and many areas with water where you can enjoy yourself without disturbing or damaging nature, which is why it is also a place that many people like to visit. Unfortunately, I have not been able to visit this part, because you need a group of people to go, choose specific days to plan guides and so on. However, those who have had the opportunity to go speak highly of this place, as do the tour guides themselves, who, as I said before, really enjoy what they do and do it with a lot of love.

There are many animals in this park, most of which are birds and are depicted in the murals you can see in the photographs. This is why my post is a collection of these places, because they are clearly part of the same site and the connection between them is the most beautiful thing to discover. Furthermore, as I said at the beginning, being able to appreciate the history and pride of the community for nature and all that nature gives them is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful experiences, seeing how what we care for and value can repay us for that love. La Marroquina and Guaquira are undoubtedly one of the most peaceful places to realize that breaks are always good, especially when accompanied by loved ones.

La otra zona que también forma parte de Guaquira es el parque, lugar donde puedes ir a caminar, conectar con la naturaleza y desconectarte del estrés del día a día, tiene un sendero y muchos zonas con agua donde puedes disfrutar sin molestar o dañar nada de la naturaleza, por lo que también es un lugar que muchas personas les gusta conocer, lamentablemente yo no he podido conocer esta parte, porque para ello se necesita un grupo de personas, elegir días en específico para planificar guías y demás, pero aquellos que han tenido la oportunidad de ir hablan maravillas de este lugar, al igual que los mismos guías turísticos, quienes como dije anteriormente, disfrutan mucho de lo que hacen y lo hacen con mucho amor.

En este parque hay muchos animales, los cuales en su mayoría son aves y los cuales están retratados en los murales que pueden ver en las fotografías, y esta es la razón por la cual mi publicación es un conjunto de estos lugares, porque evidentemente son parte del mismo sitio y la conexión entre ellos es lo más lindo que hay para conocer. Además, como decía al principio, el lograr apreciar la historia y el orgullo de la comunidad por la naturaleza y todo aquello que la naturaleza les concede, sin duda es una de las experiencias más bonitas, ver cómo aquello que cuidamos y valoramos nos puede retribuir ese amor. La marroquina y Guaquira son sin duda uno de los lugares más tranquilos para darse cuenta de que los respiros siempre vienen bien y más acompañados de seres queridos.
