Fungifriday: Ageric Mushroom

IMG_20250216_074947_1.jpg

Ageric mushrooms are the mushrooms that are the weakest in their defenses when exposed to sunlight. They only appear when the morning dawn breaks, when the cold vapor of the morning dew is still visible. When the sun rises from the eastern horizon, these mushrooms immediately burn and then wither, break and even crumble without a trace. The heat of the sun will kill the entire family of mushrooms Protostropharia semiglobata
or ageric.

On that cool morning, I woke up to dry the clothes suddenly I saw on the ground a group of ageric mushrooms growing among the remaining morning dew. I quickly finished drying my clothes, then quickly I went in to find a camera to capture the group of mushrooms. If I was even a little late, the beautiful Protostropharia mushrooms would be burned by the sun. Sure enough, an hour later after I took some photos of the ageric suddenly I didn't see them anymore all that was left was the hot dry ground.

These are some photos of Protostropharia or also known as egeric mushrooms. Grow directly on the ground without using rotten wood or trees. These mushrooms appear after heavy rain overnight. Then among the dew that falls in the cold morning they come out to decorate the earth.
