For people who live in comfort, does not mean they do not have challenges in life, but yes when there is comfort in life, it is easy to deal with challenges, compared to someone who is fighting for survival and the other challenges of life. I had a very major debate with a friend couple of days back on this. He sent me one philosophical quote on life something on money, which basically says we do not need money to live life happily. I completely disagree to this. Money has become one of the most important source to live life it may not be much but it should be at least that much that one can live with some peace of mind. Else imagine a person who does not have money to buy dinner, how will that person sleep on empty stomach and how will that person ever be in a peaceful state.

At the same time my thought is that one must not get so absorbed in making money that all the happiness starts depending on it. Money is just a tool and it should not become a controlling commodity in our life. It only becomes a problem when we give too much importance to it and allow it to control us and that's where all the greed and power issues begin.

At one point of time I was struggling with my finances and that lead to a lot of mental stress so I do understand that it is not easy to live peacefully without money. My father could never get the best treatment for his health condition because we did not have that kind of money and that resulted in his health deteriorating further and he getting bed ridden, and yes that had it's impact on all our lives. If we had good amount of money at that point of time, even if my father could not recover fully, we could have given him some comfort and he would had been at peace with his physical condition. Years later, when my hubby's health condition was critical, I was well equipped with finances to take care of his treatment and even though it was all critical but everything was happening to give him utmost comfort, and hubby recovered well. We could afford the best nursing facilities for him. So that's the difference that I have experienced with money with 2 different people in my life in the same health condition. With my father I felt so helpless and me and my sister would literally end up begging to Doctors for help. Whereas with my hubby I had a upper hand to demand whatever I wanted for his treatment.

So when some one gives me all these philosophical quotes it spins my head. It is easy for people who are in comfortable position to talk about all these sugary quotes, but when someone has to actually go through all those challenges that is the time one sees the real face of life. It may not be all about money but one cannot ignore money as well.
