This is one treatment which I really dread about. Cancer is such a painful illness; we cannot even imagine what the person goes through physically, mentally and emotionally. A friend of mine has been fighting this battle since the past 20 years. When it all started Doctors had given up hope that she would survive. She had a Colon Cancer and it was at a advanced stage, but I must say she is an extraordinarily brave lady. When she was diagnosed, she was married and had just had her first baby. She fought it out and recovered after some 2 years of long treatment, but then again in 3 years she lapsed into the condition and again she had to go through all the pain of the treatment and the Chemotherapy. Like that now it's 20 years she has been in this condition on and off. She was a very pretty girl and she still is but I can see the toll of all the medications and treatment on her body. The Chemo since the last 20 years has taken a lot of toll on her. Her courage really amazes me sometimes. She is also a motivational speaker on the Ted Talks.

In 2020 when my hubby was undergoing his treatment for Myasthenia, that was the time when there were 2 Chemotherapy sessions given to him and I was feeling that pain with him. He had hair loss, anxiety, too much weakness and heavy mood swings. There were 3 sessions planned for him, but after 2 his recovery was happening well, so we suggested the Doctor if the 3rd one could be avoided and the Doctor agreed, that was such a relief for us. Previously the Doctor had mentioned to us that he may have to take a chemo session once every 6 months, but then later on it was not needed and I really pray to God for this to support his health recovery without all of that.

My aunt had a breast cancer and she eventually got the breast removed, and she was aged so the pain was extreme for her. All of these treatments do not only drain us physically but also emotionally. I have huge respect for people who are fighting against this condition with a smile on their face. Today I feel like writing on this because one of my hubby's colleague has been diagnosed with Cancer and had to undergo a surgery today and just hearing about his condition we feel painful. For some time, I used to volunteer at the Children Cancer ward of a hospital, where I used to go once a week and spend some time playing with those children. We had many protocols to follow, but it was worth it. It would hurt me so much seeing them in that condition, and I always feel how life can be so unfair towards these little children to put them through so much suffering and pain.

In the toxic environment that we live it is not even easy to have a fast recovery. Cancer has become a very common illness also these days, and I wish there are some better medical innovations around, in which could avoid the effects of Chemo and give a pain free treatment and a faster recovery.
