The Ahmedabad Flower Show - Part 1
The Flower shows are now becoming a yearly event in some parts of India. Mumbai and Ahmedabad are the two cities that I know of. The Flower show in Ahmedabad city is one of the biggest in the Country. This event was inaugurated by then chief minister Narendra Modi in 2013, who is now the Prime minister of India. During his time Narendra Modi as, chief minister did some very good developments in Ahmedabad city. His vision was to promote it as a Business center and also grow tourism.
In Ahmedabad, the first Flower show officially took place in 2015, and since then it has become a yearly event. In the first few years, it was a very small event, but in the past couple of years the event has been happening on a grand scale, with lakhs of visitors not only visiting from the city but from all over India.
The Theme of the show this year was "India- A Saga" in local language Hindi it is called "Bharat Ek Gatha". The idea was to showcase India's journey through the past few decades where the growth of India has happened from ancient civilization to modern India and with the modern India developments India still being strongly rooted to it's culture and traditions, and not compromising on that part.
Let me now give you the visual treat of this show.. As this is a very big show and loads of pictures to share, I am going to break it up in 3 parts. This part is focusing on India's development in Technology and Space sector.
This is at the entrance, promoting vertical gardening.
In the last decade, India has made very good progress in the Railways sector, coming up with high-speed trains and increasing the network. This is a representation of that.
A tribut to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. He was a freedom fighter from Gujarat. After India gained independence, he served as a Home Minister and a Deputy Prime Minister. In the state of Gujarat his legacy is celebrated with a lot of pride.
Some other flower structures which showcases India's space and technology growth
In 2030 the commonwealth games are to be hosted in Ahmedabad city and this is a representation of it.
This represents the India Beti Padhao theme, which means educate the girl child.
