Mount Mary is one of the most famous Church in Mumbai located in Bandra area. This Church was built in the 16th Century and after that there have been many restoration projects that have taken place. People have belief in this place that whatever they would wish for here, with a strong faith will always come true. It's a semi-gothic structure. Staying in Mumbai also I have hardly visited this Church and that too long time back. Honestly I do not even remember when it was last, probably some 2 decades back or even more then that.

This time when I was in Mumbai, I was in this area and driving through I crossed the Church, it was late at night and the church was closed, but then I still wanted to get down and spend some time. Opposite the church there is a Shrine of Mother Mary which is also very famous and it gives our very divine vibes. The shrine is open round the clock and you can offer candles here. I too felt like going up and spending some time at the Shrine. I was with a friend, so he clicked some pictures for me.

This is the Mount Mary Church opposite the Shrine. Now I have a strong desire to visit the Church, this time I could not, probably next time I will visit.

That's a very divine statue of Mother Mary. In the past Bandra area was occupied majorly by the fisherman's and Salt farmers, and they called the statue of Mother Mary as 'Moti Mauli' in their language, which means Mother of Pearls. They associated her with Pearls since it comes from the Sea and Fishing their profession is also related to the Sea.
