Muscat festival is a vibrant celebration of culture, art and fun. It happens once a year in the month of January. 5 years back this festival was hosted only in one location, but after covid things changed. Now the festival is hosted in many parts of the city and the activities are spread out. Like the fireworks happens in one location and the drone show happens in another. The schedule is releases to the public for planning their visits. All the activities happen multiple times so that one cannot miss it. This arrangement is better because hosting at one place was making it very crowded.

It's a full entertainment package where one can enjoy the cultural performances, some local food, then there is music and shows and for children many activities to do. It's a mix of the traditions as well as the contemporary activities. Basically there is something for everyone young and old. I enjoy going for this festival, and make it a point to visit at least one time during the month. Fireworks is the highlight and a visual treat with bursts of colors and sound.

These are the kind of accessories that the olden people of Oman wore at some point of time. You do not see te city people wearing this kind of jewelry any more, but in the interior villages the old ladies still do wear them.

As the festival activities goes on, there are some stage performances also happening simultaneously.

Fire works show is spectacular. Here in Oman an individual is not allowed to bursts fire crackers. The fireworks happen only during the Muscat festival time, else during the whole year there are no fireworks ever. In a way, I like this rule, because it does not pollute the air then.

Muscat festival an event of fun and celebration. The vibe is energetic and it's perfect way to experience the Omani festive spirit.
