๐๐ฝ๐ปSublime Sunday๐๐ฝ๐ by @c0ff33a - The Life of Royals - Part 2
Continuing with part 2 of the treasury of Topkapi Palace, today I will showcase all the other things of the treasury which are normally a part of day-to-day use, but not as simple as it sounds. All these collectibles are a part of state ceremonies and gifts received from other Countries which also signifies the diplomatic ties that the Ottoman empire had with the world. All of these were passed on down their generations and now all a part of the Country's treasury. All of these main pieces have a story behind it.
This is a master piece after the pear-shaped diamond in their collection. It's the cover of their holy book Quran, studded with Diamonds and Emeralds. What a beauty it is, the design is also something to admire. Sometimes I feel that the olden times were more classy then what we are now. Even our richest person would not have something like this. These emperors knew how to flaunt their wealth, whether it is good or not that's a different thing. But they surely were major royal statements.
That's another book cover in gold and jewels
I am in awe of this whole collection. While the royals lived a very luxurious life, I am not sure what was the state of their Country overall.
These are stands, made of gold. Some finest pieces in their collection
A royal throne made with marble and studded with jewels.
I do not know the exact English name of this, but the purpose of it is, that rose water is filled in it and when some guests arrive, it is sprinkled on them lightly as a warm welcome gesture. It is used in recent times also but yes not made of gold and jewels. In our traditional ceremony we use it and it's made of german silver.
Hanging lamps
A beautiful Amber studded plate
I guess, it must be used for filling water
Some show wall hangings
The different types of feather fans
These are all Hookah equipment's
Some other random items, worth watching
This is what we can say, Royalty at its best. All though, I have full admiration of all these things but I feel that these were the generations who exploited resources to the maximum and then we are now only following their footsteps. Majority of these rulers lived in chaos, fighting over extending their boundaries and had major greed issues. Everyone wanted to acquire other's land and show their power. Those fights still continue now also, but comparatively less. Hopefully the future generations will be much more sensible in all ways. Thank God the Monarchy systems have ended in majority.
That brings us to an end of part 2, and there is one more part to conclude on this.
