Spending time at the Spiritual Retreat
This is my yearly ritual to visit this place Meherabad in Ahmednagar. It is a place where the Spiritual Master Meher Baba spent his life and laid his last breadth here. There is now a retreat where people come to pay respects to the Late master. The place's retreat looks fancy, but trust me there is nothing fancy about this place; everything is very basic here. The male and female sections living areas are separate, even if you visit as a family you have to stay separately. The rooms are very basic, and the bathrooms are common shared. You cannot bring any outside food, though no one checks but it is individual's responsibility to adhere to the rules. Strictly no non-vegetarian food allowed and all food must be consumed in the dining area only.
You have to book in advance by sending them an email. There is no guarantee of which room you will get, even if you are travelling single you can get a shared accommodation, it depends on availability. I always prefer to go mid-week so that there is not much rush and rooms are available easily. Stay and food both are very cheaply priced. For stay it is 400 INR, which is 4.5$ and for food per meal it is 120 INR which is just 1.4$, and the kind of meal one gets in this money is worth every penny. One can eat unlimited food.
I would love to stay here for more days but I am always short of time with my limited days in India so I do an overnight visit. It is a very peaceful and calm place. Coming here also keeps me grounded, everything comes down to basics, there is nothing fancy, no luxury and one gets lot of time in self-reflection. I like to come here alone, because it's a place where I can get disconnected from everyone and everything. I can spend my time in silence with myself.
Clicked some pictures during my recent visit.
This is the retreat.

The room. This time I managed to get a single room. You can see how basic it is.

The Library, where you find some very good collection of spiritual books.

Finally, the meals. There is Salad, rice, dal vegetable, curd. A wholesome and a healthy meal. It is prepared in-house daily.

Coming here year on year feels like a blessing. It is believed that one only comes here if Baba wishes and that is like a blessing if he calls you.
Thank you for visiting my blog. 👼🏻👼🏻💖💖🌹🌺🌸

There’s something powerful about returning year after year to the same stillness. No doubt, a no-frills space that leaves room for reflection is rare and valuable. 😁
It's a place which will ground you completely. Even if you have money there is no scope to spend over here. Whoever you may be, but once you step into this sanctuary, everyone is treated equally and has to live in the same manner. That's the beauty of this place
