Reading Terms and Conditions
This is one thing we always find it very tedious to do, reading the terms and conditions for anything. They are always so lengthy that we tend to ignore them or just browse through without making a good observation of every point. Even the apps that we use, all of them have terms and conditions, and without approving them we cannot go ahead using the app, so if we want to use it we do accept all of it, and again without reading all of it thoroughly. Most of the apps, when you install them and start using them, they will first ask for access to your photo gallery and there can be other phone features also and till the time you do not hit the allow button, you cannot go ahead. If you refuse then you cannot use that app.
Even for people who are extremely careful, some or the other time they will use some apps where their personal data will be exposed. Even in businesses or any banking facilities we avail, there are these terms and conditions, which are sometimes more then a page and extremely lengthy and we tend to sign it without reading it well. In a new job, one has to be very careful reading the terms of employment. I have seen lot of people get into trouble at the time of exit. Some times there are some very tricky catch situations in these terms and conditions which can land you in trouble if anything goes wrong. And sometimes the most important ones are written in the smallest letters. Have you experienced that. I have experienced a couple of times.
Last year me and hubby were offered a holiday group membership. Everything looked very rosy and the way they explained we were lured with it. I actually got into their talks and was convinced to buy that deal. But hubby is careful about these things, it was a big money investment, so he asked for complete terms and conditions and disclaimers. The most dangerous ones were in the finest print where we had to stretch our eyes to read it, and I realized it was a big gimmick, because it was not in favor of us.
Even when sometimes we go to some of the restaurants, they have a very cheaply priced menu, but at the bottom in very fine print they will have all the other charges, which will shoot up the bill. So whenever I go to a fine dining place, I am carefully looking at the bottom of the menu to check out these additional costs to the meal. That's a way to lure the people to come in, showing them cheap prices and then looting them with all the possible add on charges they can.
With my experience the most important thing that I always look out in any terms and conditions plan is the liability, exit and the timeline clauses. Because that's where it hits maximum. It is always better to read through and then go ahead, because these things can become a headache dealing with at a later stage. The phone apps are collecting all your data through these permissions, and majority of the people willingly give away because if they do not then they cannot use it. It's a very tricky situation. I refrain from these kind of apps unless it is absolutely necessary.
These are some very tricky things and one has to be careful about it especially where there is money involved, every terms and conditions and disclaimers must be read well and understood and only then one should go ahead. It may be tedious but it is safe to do that.

I have seen how many people fall into the trap of fraud because they don’t read terms and conditions. I also have been guilty of this, too. When the terms and conditions are too lengthy, I simply scroll through and click but for the short ones that are easily read, I go through them succinctly to avoid trouble later.
Yes, the most complicated are the lengthy ones, and I feel there is always some catch in those lengthy ones.
What they hide inside is probably why they make them so tedious to read to find the intricate details of terms of conditions. Sometimes, I do skim through them to find the fine prints but generally I tend to avoid such type of apps entirely, as the upside doesn't usually justify the potential downside.
Absolutely, I too avoid them. The more to read the more complicated it gets
Such a pain reading the T&Cs, isn't it? :)
Terms and conditions, my archenemy 😂😂 the most important parts are hidden in the tiniest print. Companies really count on people skipping over details, which makes it even more important to actually read everything word for word
Absolutely, and some language is manipulated which only a experienced person can identity. I feel there are too many catchy situations in these T&Cs.
A lot, and I've read news on lawsuits being made by users when they finally sat down to read the terms and conditions
