This is a very funny incident. Since past couple of years, every night at around 11 there are some sounds that me and hubby both hear. The sound is like as if someone is moving tables, and doing some repair work. There is mild banging noise. When it started happening in the beginning, we thought that the neighbors must be doing some house work. The sound was almost every night, it will be there for around 15 to 20 minutes and then stop.

We asked our building caretaker to check on the apartment above us, what was happening, and tell them to avoid all these kinds of house work at night time. They responded mentioning that there is no work happening and they are also able to hear the sound. For the last 4 years, this has been happening and it became like a routine, so we just ignored it. Me and hubby thought that may be the building is haunted and that's why all these sounds are coming at one particular time. It was not scarry at all. But it was becoming like a mystery. Our neighbors were also hearing these sounds and we all had the same conclusion that probably it must be some ghost thing and must be a good ghost, because we never experienced anything else.

In the last few days, the noise was getting louder and longer and this was disturbing our sleep. We had a meeting with the building owner finally to discuss on the matter. What he told us, gave us all a very hearty laugh.

So, there is a shaft in that part of the building, it connects with our bedrooms, and the shaft runs down to the ground floor where there is a supermarket. He told us that possibly they were doing some activity in the supermarket and we were getting the sounds. Since it's a completely closed area, the echo is coming up through the top floor of the building and all those house which are connected to the shafts are hearing those sounds. Instantly it felt very logical, but we had to confirm.

We approached the supermarket and checked with them about the activities in that time. They told us, it's that from 11 to 11.30 p.m. is their stock checking time and because of that there is some shifting done due to which there are sounds. I cannot tell you how much me and hubby laughed over it. For the past 4 years we were all thinking it's some ghost story.....haha.

This is how our mind can play tricks on us, right?
