Ladies of Hive Community Contest #280 - One law I would like to pass
@LadiesofHive Community Contest #280 questions for the week are:
1οΈβ£ If you had the power to create a single law in your country right now, what would it be?
~ πππ / ππ ~
2οΈβ£ Have you ever tolerated abusive behavior from someone close to you due to social pressure? If so, how did you handle it?
I will talk about India; there are many issues which need to be dealt with. There is one issue which needs utmost priority action and that is punishment against the crime of Rape. In my country, years are spent trying to prove the crime and at times with money power even the criminal gets away. I would like to pass a law that all rape cases should be dealt with within a month's time and the only punishment to be given is death sentence.
When a girl gets raped, the criminal takes away her right to live with dignity, and the same should be given to them. The right to live must be taken away from them. Years go by, the girl goes through so much trauma, sometimes they are small girl's incapable of defending themselves. If these criminals can forget humanity then the same must be done with them.
I will like to pass one more law, in my Country which would be no reservation systems and every job is based on right merits and qualifications. Right now, we have quota and reservation systems in government job, political parties, in government education systems and it is misused. The deserving do not get opportunities after working hard for years and the undeserving who have barely put in any efforts enjoy the benefits.
Well the first law is more important so that gets the highest weightage.

Have I ever tolerated abusive behavior?
My father had a very bad temperament, and though I was his favorite there were times when he would lose his temper. He has never raised his hands on me ever, but he has used harsh words which were very disturbing for me at times. With all that also I have mixed feelings about it. He had a very miserable life and that was one reason for his bad temperament and as much as he tried to control, sometimes he would lose it. After a bad temper his love was even more and he would be sorry also which would pacify me. He passed away when I was very young.
I do not have any hard feelings on him, as a matured person I do understand his situation now, even though it is not justified. But compared to all the sacrifices he made for me I could easily ignore that part of him and not be disrespectful for his sacrifices. With that experience from a very young age I had this in mind that I would not tolerate any kind of abuse in my future relationships and I was so strong on that in my mind that if anyone tried to cross their line with me I would immediately remove them from my life. That has helped me a lot.
Thank you for visiting my blog. πΌπ»πΌπ»πππΉπΊπΈ

I like the first law which you want to imply that after rape girl's also deserve to live a respected life not a traumatic life which is hard. Second law also good that job system should be on merit.
It's good that from your dad's temperament you learn to grow stronger and now you can't allow anyone. But i feel sad you lost your Dad in early age

The laws you propose, to quickly resolve and prosecute the cases you describe, even if the trauma cannot be avoided, would be fair to the victims, as would ensuring that job benefits are based on merit. It's tragic that you lost your father at such a young age; remembering him with respect is very moving. Have a good night,

I also believe that rape crimes should be investigated as a priority and the perpetrators severely punished.
I'm sorry your father was so harsh. I understand that as an adult you don't hold a grudge and you understand, but don't justify his reactions. Sending you a hug.
