Ladies of Hive Community Contest #250 - The power of forgiveness

@LadiesofHive Community Contest #248 questions for the week are:
1️⃣ If forgiveness is especially beneficial for those who are able to let go of past grudges, the invitation to reflect upon is: Do we always have to forgive? Why forgive someone who doesn't deserve forgiveness? Should we always forgive? Share your thoughts.
~ 𝐀𝐍𝐃 / 𝐎𝐑 ~
2️⃣ If we realize that we should love ourselves more, yet no one teaches us how to do so, how can we begin to love ourselves? What can we do to feel better about ourselves?

Thank you @cautiva-30 for bringing up some very thought provoking questions.

I personally believe that forgiveness is the only way to heal completely. While some people say that there are somethings which can never be forgiven, but I believe that there is nothing that cannot be forgiven. I understand that it's easier said then done. There are some scars which go very deep and forgiveness seems almost impossible. When you have resentment on someone for any of their actions, there is a very strong feeling of pain, anger and hurt associated with it.

I give a lot of spiritual introspection to any situation and people involved in it who have caused me pain. I know it is my karma somewhere coming back to me, through that experience I have to grow spiritually, and if I hold on to the pain and hurt I will never be able to break through those toxic ties of my life.

Again it is my belief, when we forgive someone it is not for them, it is for us. So even if the person does not deserve I must because that will bring me peace and healing to me. I have had 2 people in my life, and very close relationships, who I thought I will never be able to forgive because of whatever they did to my life. But then when I understood the true meaning of healing, I did and I feel so much at peace with it. All those dark thoughts have vanished and all I feel is love for them.

Forgiveness is a very powerful tool, it can transform our lives completely, never underestimate it's power. Also as time goes by in my life, I have started feeling it is so meaningless to hold on to these grudges of past. They were only disturbing my peace of mind and giving me pain and haunted dreams.

Self-love should be natural and no one can ever teach us that. If we cannot love our own-self how will we be ever capable of loving someone else. It's a feeling that starts with self and spreads out to others.

To love your own-self one must accept themselves fully, no matter whatever they are, good or not good, the transformation will happen later on, but first is the acceptance. If we do not accept our self for whatever we are we will never ever be able to think of loving ourselves. We all have our positive and negative shades, so if we can accept positive, why not negative.

When a mother loves her child, she loves unconditionally, no matter whatever the child becomes a good or a bad person, her love for the child will never fade, and such should be the love for self also, only then you will be able to think about your wellbeing in the true sense.

Thank you for visiting my blog. 👼🏻👼🏻💖💖🌹🌺🌸

Your first statement said it all, the only way we can heal from all the hurts and resentment we feel from those that have hurt us is to forgive. We forgive others for our own peace of mind and well being

Forgiveness is truly for oneself and not because the person deserves it. It’s takes great strength to forgive especially when the person doesn’t deserve it.

I agree, loving yourself starts with acceptance.

Giving forgiveness speaks a lot about your character, it may be sometimes very difficult but the moment you do it, you will know you are free

Forgiveness really is for our own peace. Holding onto grudges only prolongs pain and accepting ourselves fully is the first step toward true self love and inner healing. This is wisdom and I'll keep it in my heart

Yes, if you want to keep yourself pained then go on with all that garbage in the heart and mind

You’ve shared such a grounded and heartfelt view. Forgiveness really can feel impossible at times, yet your experience shows how it can lift a huge weight off our hearts and bring real peace.
Your take on self-love is also very relatable, accepting ourselves fully, flaws included, is a gentle but powerful starting point. That image of unconditional care is a beautiful reminder that we can give ourselves the same grace we’d give to someone we deeply cherish.

Everything does not need to start and end with us, just having a little broader view on life will help solve many problems of the mind

Forgiveness is the hardest and sometimes we keep going back and forth on it. But in the end trust me it is liberating

To forgive does not make one stupid rather it makes you free from self bondage. Also loving myself is the best thing I can ever do for myself, i can't love others without loving myself

I really appreciate how you shared your personal journey with forgiveness. It’s so true that forgiving often isn’t about the other person, it’s about finding peace within ourselves. Your words remind me that self-love begins with acceptance of all parts of ourselves, good or not so good. Thank you for this beautiful, healing message.

I agree with you. We should never underestimate forgiveness, as it can completely transform our lives. Just as holding onto past grudges only disturbed our peace of mind. Spiritual introspection is invaluable, as you say, to break through dark thoughts and make way for love. I agree with you. Self-love should be natural, and no one can teach us that. I love what you say: "it's a feeling that comes from within and extends to others." Thank you for sharing your experiences, my friend,
