Ladies of Hive Community Contest #187 - Summer time plans

(Edited)

In this week @LadiesofHive - Contest # 187 questions are:
1️⃣ Memorial Day in the US is remembering the military service men and women who gave their lives in service to the country. It is also the weekend that is typically thought of as the kick off of summer. How do you celebrate it, or does your country have a special celebration this time of year as well? If so, how do you celebrate?
~ 𝐀𝐍𝐃 / 𝐎𝐑 ~
2️⃣ With summer fast approaching (winter, if below the equator) what special vacation plans do you have in the next couple of months? Where are you going and what activities are planned? Please include any photos of your destination.

In my country India, around this time we do not have any kind of celebrations, this is the dull time of the year and extremely hot also. May is peak summer and there are school holidays so many people plan for vacation to some hilly regions to beat the heat in the month of May. The month of June is kind of a mix with summer and monsoon setting in. Climate does get better. There is nothing special happening in this month. It is the beginning of the school term, so families with children get occupied with school routines.

To talk about the Memorial Day, in India we do not celebrate the Memorial Day. We celebrate the Indian Army Day which falls on 15th January. On this day there is a Army Parade in the Capital city Delhi followed by various military shows and celebrations. These Soldiers are the real heroes of our country. It is because of them that we are able to live peacefully.

When I was on my trek, I kept on getting these thoughts again and again, how do these people manage to survive for so long in extreme climatic conditions. Just in a matter of few days up on the Mountains I was feeling I could not take it any longer. The cold on some of the border areas of India is so extreme and these people live here for months and years. Really incredible. They leave their families and serve at the borders not knowing what their fate is going to be. And the sad part is that they are not even remunerated that well to justify their sacrifice towards the Country. The ones on the higher hierarchies are better off but those at junior levels are still struggling in life to meet their needs, and not to forget actually these are the people who are doing the real job.

Thank you for visiting my blog. 👼🏻👼🏻💖💖🌹🌺🌸

Wow, reading about your trek and reflecting on the sacrifices of the army really puts things into perspective. It's amazing how they endure such extreme conditions for everyone's safety. They truly are unsung heroes. I salute them

Honestly Ma'am @nainaztengra I loved Indian movies so much. I watched almost all Indian movies in Netflix including documentaries from India. India is so big and there are places that have a snow near the boarder of Pakistan and there are also parts that have a very nice beach in Goa. I only learned about India from the movies that I watched Ma'am. India is very rich in culture, values, traditions, foods, and also in agriculture and I want to visit the country someday in God's perfect time.

In India you will see seasons and landscape of all over the world in one place. It's a big and diverse Country and we have a very rich culture. Every state by itself is like a Country and yet it is all one Country united together

Celebrating the army is something that should be done in every part of the world. It takes some kind of courage for them to decide to always protect us. Kudos to them!

Yes, I recall that there is an ongoing border dispute with the Chinese at the remote cold and barren landscape. A series of incidents between Indian and Chinese patrols often resulting in exchange of strong language, fist fights even a death, yet avoiding an all out battle with firearms so far. An uneasy peace that can easily escalate.
Thanks for sharing @nainaztengra

Indian borders have always been under crises, but in the last few years things have got better and there is some peace, thought there are some times when incidents do take place

Oftentimes, those who do the most for a country, are the least compensated. We all owe something to those who serve the country in which we specifically live. It's not an easy thing, and especially in extreme environments like you mentioned. Thank you for sharing and have a lovely day!🤗💜
