It's been a hectic week
This week we had long weekend holidays for National day, and it's been a crazy hectic week. When I say heavy week, it does not mean in a bad way. It's been heavy in a good way. My son was with me for the last few days so we had loads of things planned along with him. He came after a long time, so friends were inviting us for meals also. One day we also did and Island trip to one of the nearby Islands and that was a wonderful day out. I will be sharing the story and pictures soon. As of today I feel tired and kind of exhausted.
My Son left today morning back for India, and the home already feels empty. I have been on a cleaning spree since morning. Whenever he is there, lot of mess happens :-), In that case whenever I have anyone coming home, once they are gone, the next day goes busy in cleaning. It's my OCD issue that does not allow me to rest. Morning I also cleaned up the kitchen. It was on my to do list for a long time. I was waiting for the home to get empty and then do it up. I was looking at all the junk which was getting accumulated since past few months, but was not getting proper time to clean up the space. There were so many empty plastic containers and some old snacks stuff, which was all tucked behind in the cabinets. Finally managed to clean everything.
Some times you feel that being at home is relaxing and things can be done at our pace. But in my experience it is the toughest job being a home maker. All the time there is some activity which is there for you, right from the time you wake up. I always feel that when I was working it was much easier, because my mother-in-law managed the home, but I never realized how tedious it could get until I started managing it. Cooking, cleaning, washing, there is something all the time.
Anyways now that all the cleaning has been done, I am going to have a relaxed afternoon and evening I plan to go for a movie, just hubby and me. Since almost 2 weeks we have not had our time together. And normally my Saturdays are reserved for movie with hubby. We both enjoy it and that's our way of spending time together.

I have been following your posts closely and in your post today, I was very happy to see that your son has gone to India. It feels very empty to parents when their child is not at home.
