@Indiaunited Contest - What Advice Would You Give to Someone Leaving School Today?

My response to the @Indiaunited Conetst - Theme: What Advice Would You Give to Someone Leaving School Today?

🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻

This is one of the best phase of life and also one of the most delicate phase of life. Till the time we are studying we are living in a cocoon with a very limited part of the world. The real exposure to the world begins when one leaves the school and steps a foot in the outside world with all the possible dreams and ambitions.

Some of the advices that I will like to give is:
With the ending of the school, education is not over - one must always be curious to keep learning and make education a part of life. One must always be enthusiastic to learn new things in life.

Getting a job should not be the only primary goal in life - This is the problem that I see with students especially from top business schools. From childhood they have been drilled that they have to make a big career in life, they have to achieve big positions in company and always be focused on that. Keeping the focus is good but they should also explore their other passions in life. They should discover what is of their interests, what motivates them the most and then follow their passions and create opportunities out of them. I would advice them one thing very strongly that life is not a race and to not get caught up in that rut.

Be prepared to face the harsh realities of the world - Till the time one is studying one sees a very limited life, there are no responsibilities of family and other things of home. But as soon as the job scenes start, responsibility will also. There will be ups and downs and also setbacks, which should be faced with strength. Be it at job, business or personal life, they will be dealing with all sorts of people which will demand a lot from them and leave them stressed out. Depression and anxiety is very common with youngsters and it's because they are not ready to face the real world.

Failures and success are all part of life - They should be flexible and adapt to changes. Failures will come in their way but that's not the end. Ask for help and move forward. Do not give up on the dreams easily, it's ok to fail. Have goals in life which will give them direction to move forward. If there is a problem or a set back do not get stuck in it. Remember nothing is constant and permanent.

When students leave the school, they embark on a new journey filled with dreams and hopes and they can be very unrealistic also not understanding how things work in the outside world. So it's necessary for the parents to give them constant exposure to the real world from childhood so that they develop resilience to face the outside world.

These are all beautiful and powerful pieces of advice. We get to face the reality of life after school because this is when we start fending for ourselves and taking on bills.

This is really good advice here. Life after school is harder than most expect and it's true that staying curious and being ready for setbacks makes all the difference in the journey

Till we are in school, it's a carefree life but as soon as we complete studies our parents also have expectations from us.

Yes that is true, it's a culture I doubt will ever change, and the best is to create awareness for kids in school so they don't get caught by surprise

Leaving a school is the most depressing thing one could ever face because you do have the most beautiful memories which cannot be just washed away so easily but it's important to move on in life because we just can't be there for our whole life....!
