Growing Fruits in my Garden

avatar

I shared my Vegetable garden updates with you, now let me share my fruits garden also. I will share a few of them today and a few more in the next blog as there is lots to share. Fruit trees take some time to grow, so it will be long time till I can start getting the results. Anyways, these plants last for many years unlike vegetables which you have to plant every year as per the season. Some trees like Mango and Papaya are going to take years to grow, but then if I do not do it now then I will never have them. I can wait patiently to bear the fruits.

Again here the selection I had to make was to go with what grows in this particular soil and climate and then also what I enjoy eating. I enjoy eating almost all fruits except citrus ones, I do eat them as well but I am not very fond of them. My favorite is the berry family so I have planted a couple of them in my garden.

I had already planted one mango tree previously and this is the second one now. The first one was planted before the rainy season and this one is after the rainy season. Ideally this one also should had been planted before the rains, then the roots would have caught up very well with the soil. Anyways it's going to be couple of years till I start seeing mangoes on the trees.

That's the rose apple tree, it is one of my favorite fruits. It's not a very common fruit, kind of a very local fruit of my region.

That's what the tree looks now, not much of growth. It's just been 2 weeks, in another month or so my gardener says the fruit will start coming on it.

Here I have put 2 Papaya plants. Hubby was disappointed as he wanted to plant bigger ones which would then grow fast, but we did not get bigger plants so we had to go ahead with these.

Their status as of now. Looks like the roots have caught up well with the soil. Again this picture is sent by my gardener so the quality is not very good.

This is the Pomegranate tree. Pomegranates grow in cool temperatures mixed with hot and dry climate. I am not sure if they will grow well here, but I am trying and let's hope for the best. My gardener says it will, so I am going with his word.

Here in Oman in the hilly regions pomegranates grow very well and there are farms of it. From here only I have had my interest of growing one in my garden.

I will continue more of my fruit garden in the next blog

Thank you for visiting my blog. 👼🏻👼🏻💖💖🌹🌺🌸

It's great to do planting on the edge of the house like that. Hopefully the longest it can grow well and fertile.

I like eating papaya a lot, especially the mildly sweet ones. Some take longer to bear fruits and can grow very tall without much fruits. Wishing you bountiful harvest in the coming months and years on your fruit garden :)
