2 days of rituals and ceremonies come to an end

Last night we had a closure of our 2 days Ganesh Chaturthi festival. Actually the festival goes on for 11 days, but we can celebrate it as per how much we can commit. Personally for me it get physically very tiring, so I do it only for 2 days. But yes, I do continue my prayers for the rest of the days. I had a crazy time for the past 2 days, almost 90 to 100 people visited my home to seek blessings of Lord Ganesha. Every evening after the aarti, which is like a prayer ritual, I had arranged for some snacks for all the visitors. Thankfully the guests were spread out in 2 days, so that was kind of a breather. The most helpful person during this time is my cook. I am so very grateful to her, because without her it's impossible for me to manage all of this by myself.

That's he aarti ritual being performed by me and hubby.

These days, it's such wonderful energy around, though it's very hectic but still it feels extremely good and satisfying. I always feel like I have a special guest at home and I have to take care of him.

All the food we prepared at home, from the quantity you can understand how many people must have come. There was sweet and savory both. The only thing I did not prepare this year is fresh juice, and I got some bottled juice, people here prefer that. Both the days we had a separate menu, and everything vegetarian. By the end of the evening, almost all the food would get over.

After the food, then last night we did the immersion ceremony of Lord Ganesha, which we call it as a visarjan. Taking the blessings for the last time, before he leaves our home we prepare for the immersion.

And finally it's immersion time, so all the flowers and ornaments that I had put have been removed. Before the immersion ceremony we carry the idol all through the home so that every corner of the home is blessed. One must see the energy of this ceremony, we have music and dance and so much fun. My friends are always there with us to celebrate. I am completely exhausted by this time, but still I feel the good energy and the strength to do this final ritual.

And here the final part is done. I had prepared a bucket of water with flowers in it and kept it ready.

Within 15 minutes the idol gets dissolved completely in water. Today morning I poured this water into my plants. Just my way of being eco-friendly. A lot of people do the immersion of the idol in sea, but I find that very polluting. That's why even my idol is very simple made of natural clay and no colors used on it, so that when I pour the water and soil into my plants, they are not harmed in any way.

Morning I had loads of clean up work to do, and wrapping up all the items again back in it's place. Cleaning work is done but wrapping up is still pending, which I will do it gradually. I need good rest time now. The 2 days passed off so quickly and now I am feeling all the fatigue of it.

Thank you for visiting my blog. 👼🏻👼🏻💖💖🌹🌺🌸

From the pictures I'm certain it was such a joyful and lively celebration. The effort you put into every detail makes me admire the whole thing so much. Great and eco friendly approach too

Oh wow, beautiful tradition, so colorful too. The immersion part is quite touching, like returning back to the Source after all is accomplished. Glad to hear that the wonderful energy was with you even when the situation was hectic, so uplifting :)

Oh yes, the immersion part is very emotional, it feels like letting some one very close to you leave your home. And after that for a couple of days the house suddenly feels so empty.
