Nature sometimes presents us with moments that enrich our experience. We witnessed one such moment when one of my elder brothers caught this mysterious creature – an owl.
Owls have always been silent hunters. Their movements in the dark of night, silent flight and round deep eyes – all together they have a different kind of mystery and beauty. The owl seen in the picture seems to have eyes that are absorbing light at night, and its wings, beak and claws are all a perfect work of art of nature.
This is probably an Indian Scops Owl (Otus bakkamoena) – these are small, nocturnal birds, which are usually seen in rural areas or bushes. However, it is not very easy to see them during the day, so this picture is very special for us.
Coming in contact with such an animal, it felt like we should have more responsibility towards nature. It is also our responsibility to ensure that no one hurts them, and that we keep them alive.
