Hola amigos de la comunidad de Movies & Tv, espero que se encuentren bien el día de hoy. Hace poco ví una película surcoreana que me gustó bastante y que me dejó sorprendida, se trata de Revelación una historia sobre la religión, el temor a Dios y mucho drama con suspenso. No pensé que el tema religioso fuera tan interesante como lo hacen ver en esta película, además de ser el punto principal para desarrollar toda la trama. Es realmente muy intrigante y tiene un excelente desarrollo de ideas y de personajes. Así que los invito a leer mi reseña 😨.
Hello friends of the Movies & Tv community, I hope you are well today. I recently saw a South Korean movie that I liked a lot and that left me surprised, it is Revelation a story about religion, the fear of God and a lot of drama with suspense. I didn't think that the religious theme was as interesting as they make it look in this movie, besides being the main point to develop the whole plot. It is really very intriguing and has an excellent development of ideas and characters. So I invite you to read my review 😨.
Un joven llamado Min-chan se dedica a ser pastor religioso de una iglesia en Corea del Sur, es muy creyente y tiene una vida en devoción a Dios por lo que siempre intenta hacer las cosas bien para representar a Dios de la mejor manera posible. Pero su vida cambia por completo cuando un día asiste a su iglesia un hombre bastante extraño llamado Kwon Yang-rae quien es un exconvicto y que se acerca a la iglesia aparentando querer pasar un rato en la misa. Lo que Min-chan no sabe es que ese pequeño encuentro desataría el infierno en la tierra para el y su devoción hacia Dios.
A young man named Min-chan is a religious pastor of a church in South Korea, he is a strong believer and has a life of devotion to God so he always tries to do the right things to represent God in the best possible way. But his life changes completely when one day a strange man named Kwon Yang-rae, an ex-convict, comes to his church pretending to want to spend some time at mass. What Min-chan doesn't know is that this little encounter will unleash hell on earth for him and his devotion to God.
Kwon Yang-rae tiene un historial de ser un pedófilo y además de asesinatos hacia niños y jóvenes, su acercamiento con el pastor da inicio a un sin fin de acontecimientos que ponen su libertad en peligro. Además hay una mujer que es policía llamada Yeon-hee quien tiene una deuda con su hermana muerta, víctima de un hombre que la asesino de una forma brutal y que le genera una culpa inmensa por no haber podido ayudarla a tiempo. Todos estos casos tienen relación con Kwon Yang-rae y de alguna extraña manera tanto el pastor cómo la detective Yeon-hee se unirán para acabar con este ser humano maligno.
Kwon Yang-rae has a history of being a pedophile as well as murdering children and young people, his approach with the pastor sets off a series of events that put his freedom in danger. There is also a policewoman named Yeon-hee who owes a debt to her dead sister, victim of a man who murdered her in a brutal way and who generates an immense guilt for not having been able to help her in time. All these cases are related to Kwon Yang-rae and in some strange way both the shepherd and detective Yeon-hee will join forces to take down this evil human being.
Está historia es muy interesante sobre todo por como habla acerca del miedo al pecado y el temor a Dios, el pastor Min-chan es una clara demostración de que un mal momento te puede llevar a plantearte de manera espiritual si Dios te está poniendo a prueba para ver si eres capaz de hacer el bien o lo correcto. Además de que se ve como Min-chan poco a poco va perdiendo de alguna manera la cordura y se siente cada vez más como con la misión de terminar con el mal que lo persigue a pesar de que muchas de las cosas que hace no están bien a los ojos de Dios, pero para él es una forma de Dios comunicarse con él y decirle que tiene una "misión" que cumplir.
This story is very interesting especially because it talks about the fear of sin and the fear of God, Pastor Min-chan is a clear demonstration that a bad moment can lead you to ask yourself in a spiritual way if God is testing you to see if you are capable of doing good or right. Besides that you see how Min-chan gradually loses his sanity and feels more and more like he is on a mission to end the evil that haunts him even though many of the things he does are not right in the eyes of God, but for him it is a way for God to communicate with him and tell him that he has a "mission" to fulfill.
Además se habla sobre un tema bastante delicado como lo es la pedofilia y el secuestro, el personaje de Kwon Yang-rae quien es un exconvicto y que tiene sus mañas luego de secuestrar a una joven y que está terminara muerta por suicidio debido al trauma que le dejó el momento del secuestro y los juegos que tuvo Yang-rae con ella, hacen ver qué es una persona que no está bien mentalmente y que tiene un pasado que no lo justifica pero que si da a entender muchas de los traumas que tiene el mismo como ser humano y que lo llevaron a terminar de esa manera, se podría decir que fue una víctima que luego de sufrir mucha violencia se convirtió en victimario.

¿Que es lo que más me gustó de esta película? Primero, los personajes están increíblemente bien desarrollados, cada uno cumple con el papel que le toca en esta historia tan turbia, para mí fue impactante ver cómo una persona con una fé tan grande se vio comprometido con un asesino por culpa de un error y luego este pastor se culpara a si mismo y que su propia mente jugando con las ideas religiosas le dijera que tenía una misión que básicamente era acabar con el exconvicto y hacerlo sin que nadie se enterara, esto último fue lo que le dió más drama a la historia y lo que me generó tensión ya que cada vez se hacia más culpable el pastor tratando de desaparecer al exconvicto.
What did I like most about this movie? First, the characters are incredibly well developed, each one fulfills his role in this murky story, for me it was shocking to see how a person with such a great faith was committed to a murderer because of a mistake and then this pastor blamed himself and that his own mind playing with religious ideas told him that he had a mission that basically was to kill the ex-convict and do it without anyone knowing about it, The latter was what gave more drama to the story and what generated tension for me as the pastor became more and more guilty trying to make the ex-convict disappear.
La idea de que entrelazaran la religión con el temor a Dios es algo que expusieron de la mejor manera posible, el protagonista llega a un extremo de culpa y de miedo que su mente le crea esa idea de que debe acabar con el mal, que es un llamado divino y que el está en esa situación porque así lo quiso Dios. Es increíble lo que la mente puede hacerte creer y cómo puedes reaccionar ante una situación de injusticia o de crimen, realmente no tiene desperdicio esta película y es desde el principio un montaña rusa de emociones pero sobre todo de muchas preguntas acerca de si está bien ser tan fanático religioso y tomar la justicia por tus propias manos.
The idea of intertwining religion with the fear of God is something that was exposed in the best possible way, the protagonist reaches an extreme of guilt and fear that his mind creates the idea that he must put an end to evil, that it is a divine call and that he is in that situation because God wanted it that way. It is incredible what the mind can make you believe and how you can react to a situation of injustice or crime, this movie is really worth watching and from the beginning it is a roller coaster of emotions but above all of many questions about whether it is right to be so religious fanatic and take justice into your own hands.
Si esperan ver una historia diferente y que sea de drama, asesinato, misterio y religión está es una película que retrata de manera clara cada uno de los elementos que hacen que sea una de las mejores películas de estos temas de Corea del Sur y que te hace replantearte que es lo que está bien en el mundo y que es lo que realmente Dios o la vida nos quiere decir con ciertas circunstancias por las que tenemos que pasar. Yo sufrí demasiado viendo la película hasta el final, sobre todo por la angustia de saber en qué terminaría todo este enredo entre el pastor, el exconvicto y la joven policía.
If you are expecting to see a different story with drama, murder, mystery and religion, this is a film that clearly portrays each of the elements that make it one of the best films of these themes from South Korea and that makes you rethink what is right in the world and what God or life really wants to tell us with certain circumstances that we have to go through. I suffered too much watching the movie until the very end, mostly because of the anguish of knowing how this whole mess between the pastor, the ex-convict and the young policewoman would end.

El cine surcoreano casi siempre sorprende con esas historias intensas, y esta mezcla de religión con suspenso y drama que describes ¡suena súper atrapante! La forma en que explicas cómo se entrelazan la fe, la culpa, el miedo a Dios y hasta la idea de una "misión divina" para detener el mal... suena genial.
