Hola amigos de la comunidad de Humanitas, espero que se encuentren bien el día de hoy 😊. Me gusta mucho participar en los temas del mes dentro de la comunidad, siento que muchos son interesantes y a la vez muy importantes dónde todos podemos dar nuestra perspectiva de los temas que se publican. El tema de hoy es el Día del Libro ¿Por qué lees?. Me gusta mucho poder compartir con ustedes mis razones y mi pasión por la lectura, se que muchos como yo se sienten emocionados cada vez que comienzan una nueva historia.

I really like to participate in the topics of the month within the community, I feel that many are interesting and at the same time very important where we can all give our perspective on the topics that are published. Today's topic is Book Day Why do you read?. I love to share with you my reasons and my passion for reading, I know that many like me feel excited every time they start a new story.

Mi primer encuentro con los libros fue en la escuela, más que todo es lo que recuerdo ya que no tengo muchas memorias de mi infancia. Pero se que en mi etapa escolar pedían a los alumnos una cantidad algo exagerada de libros, muchos que leímos completos, otros a medias y otros ni siquiera los empezamos. En esa etapa me gustaba mucho leer sobre lenguaje y literatura y también sobre otros temas de historia y artes o del idioma inglés. Aún conservo varios de los libros que utilice en esos años y que son casi una reliquia, ya no es la misma calidad según mi opinión a los libros que piden en las escuelas hoy en día.

My first encounter with books was at school, that's mostly what I remember since I don't have many memories of my childhood. But I know that when I was in school they asked students to read a somewhat exaggerated amount of books, many of which we read in their entirety, others half-read and others we did not even start. At that stage I liked to read a lot about language and literature and also about other subjects of history and arts or the English language. I still have several of the books I used in those years and they are almost a relic, it is no longer the same quality according to my opinion to the books they ask for in schools today.

Después en la adolescencia me empecé a interesar por todo tipo de libros sobre todo en digital, me llamó mucho la atención en esos tiempos el autor John Green que está tachado como un escritor de historias para adolescentes, pero sentí que con él conecte de muchas maneras, entre los libros que más me gustaron fueron Will Grayson Will Grayson y The Turtles All The Way Down, sobre todo con el último conecte de una forma en la que me sentí muy feliz de haber leído esa historia, que va más allá de lo que venía escribiendo como una de sus famosas obras The Fault In Our Stars.

Then as a teenager I started to get interested in all kinds of books especially in digital, I was really drawn in those days to the author John Green who is labeled as a writer of stories for teenagers, but I felt that I connected with him in many ways, Among the books I liked the most were Will Grayson Will Grayson and The Turtles All The Way Down, especially with the last one I connected in a way that I felt very happy to have read that story, which goes beyond what he was writing as one of his famous works The Fault In Our Stars.

Con el tiempo fui perdiendo la capacidad de leer tantos libros como lo hacía antes y hasta quedé un poco desanimada para empezar a leer de nuevo, pero últimamente me estoy dando el tiempo necesario para leer nuevas historias y he encontrado a Gillian Flynn una autora que me llama mucho la atención, no solo porque fue la creadora de la famosa historia de Gone Girl que aunque no leí el libro, la adaptación de la película estuvo increíble. Realmente di con esta autora de forma al azar, encontré el libro Sharp Objects por la adaptación de la serie que estaba viendo mi hermana y decidí leer primero el libro y fue una experiencia increíble, la manera en la que Gillian engancha con su forma de relatar sus historias y de desarrollar sus ideas, hace que quieras seguir leyendo más de sus libros y por el momento comencé otro de ella llamado Dark Places y por el momento me va gustando tanto cómo el libro que mencioné anteriormente.

Over time I was losing the ability to read as many books as I did before and I was even a little discouraged to start reading again, but lately I am giving myself the time to read new stories and I have found Gillian Flynn an author that catches my attention, not only because she was the creator of the famous story of Gone Girl that although I didn't read the book, the movie adaptation was amazing. I found the book Sharp Objects because of the adaptation of the series that my sister was watching and I decided to read the book first and it was an incredible experience, the way Gillian hooks you with her way of telling her stories and developing her ideas, makes you want to keep reading more of her books and at the moment I started another one of hers called Dark Places and at the moment I am liking it as much as the book I mentioned above.

Siento que todos podemos tomar el hábito de la lectura siempre y cuando encontremos los géneros que más nos atraigan y los autores que más nos gusten, hay de todo para escoger y eso es lo mejor de poder leer, que puedes encontrar historias ficticias bien desarrolladas como también relatos de la vida real. Para salir un poco del bloqueo lector está bien empezar paso a paso leyendo algo que sintamos que conecte con nuestros gustos y que a la vez podamos disfrutar porque esa es la idea de leer un libro, no solo es que te deje conocimientos sino que también te invite a seguir buscando y explorando en el mundo de la lectura.

I feel that we can all get into the habit of reading as long as we find the genres that appeal to us and the authors that we like the most, there is everything to choose from and that is the best thing about being able to read, you can find well developed fictional stories as well as real life stories. To get out of the reading block is good to start step by step reading something that we feel that connects with our tastes and at the same time we can enjoy because that is the idea of reading a book, not only is that it leaves you knowledge but also invites you to continue searching and exploring the world of reading.

Los libros nos mantienen aprendiendo cosas nuevas, nos invitan a ejercitar nuestro cerebro y a crear un hábito que es sumamente sano y a la vez nos ayuda a entender mejor muchos temas de la vida y de la literatura. Realmente si fuera por mi tendría una biblioteca con todos los libros que me han gustado y los que quisiera leer en el futuro, pero se que en algún momento la tendré aunque sea algo pequeña, para guardar los libros que más significado han tenido en mi vida y que me recuerdan que leer es de los mejores pasatiempos, que te llevan a otros mundos y que abren nuevos horizontes.

Books keep us learning new things, they invite us to exercise our brain and create a habit that is extremely healthy and at the same time helps us to better understand many topics of life and literature. Really if it were up to me I would have a library with all the books I have liked and those I would like to read in the future, but I know that at some point I will have it even if it is a little small, to keep the books that have had more meaning in my life and that remind me that reading is one of the best hobbies, that take you to other worlds and that open new horizons.
