Freewrite: Safe but Unsound

This is my short story writing attempt using the freewrite.

Meja managed to reach to Phuket in the morning. And by the time she reached there were all people on the beach already. So she just managed to put on a chair to get some sun. And she just put on lotion and went on to take a rest. Meanwhile the beach lively as usual with kids and the family all playing around.

Suddenly there is a siren sound all over. The beach rescue teams were shouting there is a big wave coming. Meja just ignored thinking it's for those who are surfing and the people who are in the water. But then siren and the helicopter sound kind of made her get out of her half sleep.

There was a huge wave coming in their direction and everyone was running. She started running so fast towards the resto nearby. The people in resto said she should run for the mall as it is one of the higher places to go and can accommodate entire beach folks.

Wave reached the beach and started getting the speed. Meja got caught into one such water wave in the road while reaching the stairs of the back of the mall. It made her get some scratches all over the body.

Turns out she was safe till the water rise but definitely unsound looking at her scratches on the body.
