TTT - Lana Del Rey

Hello Hive Music Gang!

Welcome to another #threetunetuesdaysunday created originally by @ablaze.

I am a couple of days early (or late) depending on your perspective. But this week I am back with a few tunes from the lovely Lana Del Rey that I couldn't wait til Tuesday to share with you.

I discovered Lana Del Rey many years ago when she first released Summertime Sadness and I remember quite enjoying it at the time. Since then I know she has been quite active with many tunes, but the slowness and slightly depressing sound of Summertime Sadness, Born to Die etc- kept me away from giving her another look.

That is until now, I was doomscrolling on Xwitter and came across a Selma Hayek video with one of her tunes in and it got me hooked again.

Of course that song was Radio and features a great Matrix video which is one of my favorite films, so its a double win situation! Yes I am looking at the woman in the red dress.

Watching some videos featuring Lana on youtube, there were some questions about if she would be doing a Bond film song, which imo would be great to see her do one. Her style of songs and videos would be a perfect fit, if not actually outshine the Bond franchise.

I was also noticing that Lana seems to have done alot of botox or face fillers which seems to be a growing trend these days. I almost was not recognising her from years ago when I first caught her.

After Radio, my attention also drifted to her probably most played tune according to the youtube stats, Young and Beautiful. One of those reflective type songs I guess.

There are a few fan videos featuring different movies with this as the background music. Not one of her most recent ones, I am surprised I didn't pick this one up a while ago. But it is still good to discover gems that you have missed in the past.

The final tune is another really mellow one with a video with some darker undertones. The song is however really cool and a masterpiece.

All of her videos are pretty cinematic and tell an interesting story related to the songs. I wasn't sure I would want to listen to her music again, but am glad I have rediscovered it.

This week has been pretty stressful and Lana has been my accompaniment to help mellow me out and help my mind to wander from my worries.

I've noticed the same trend with a lot of aging actresses and singers using way too much fillers and botox to the point you can't even recognize them. It's a sad trend...

However, you have made some great music picks! Her videos are always great, and she does have a great voice. I think the big question about a Bond film would be when are they gong to get around to making some new ones. I still haven't heard an announcement of the new actor. We'll see. I think she would do a great job though!

Its really popular these days with the botox and filler, but I am not sure that the long term effects are so great. I guess we will find out.

Thanks, glad you liked the selection. I am curious too about a new Bond. I mean, they have pretty much done Bond from every angle at this stage and also the UK is not really so relevant on the international stage these days, so his relevance is another thing!

She may end up not getting out of her house, when the dewastating consequences become hard to ignore xD (and not giving us chance to see, lol). well, I am a bit joking - she is public person after all and has to perform on stage, do TV appearances stuff etc ?... anyway, thats a slippery, crooked way to go. 😛

I think when younger they don't think it will make much effect, but later the after effects look awful imo!

I also absolutely love the music of Lana Del Rey! As an autist I tend to gon on bing listens that can last days where I play the same song just over an over again until I get a new one. Radio from Lana Del Rey was in that list once, Summertime Sadness also by the way.

Never heard her music before, I seem to have seen her name though - hmm - I think my taste in music got stuck late nineties, early 2000s,newer than that is like a black hole for me - LOL

I did listen into all three tunes but only finished the last one. It is good. Not really my taste but good.

Hope you're having less stress to worry about!

'Radio' - I dont remember me listening to this song before, not sure, at least I did not remember it. Well, its pleasurable but rather a background type of music, I'd say. But watching the video sequence from Matrix does work with it so well! enjoyed it till the last frame - well done assemblage!

'Ride' is a pleasurable song and especially video.

thats sad to hear, really. :/ not sure if you are right, tho - to it looks like 100 the same (without any visible changes with the years, lol). probably it is kind of a glossy soft picture applied onto her face - and ofc the pic is STABLE. If only we stumble her in a crowd, without loads of make-up and unprepared, (so to speak, an edition without plaster and finishing) - then in this case we would definitely not have recognized Madame Lana.... hehe.

Well, as for my faves - they belong to her early releases: 'Summertime Sadness' works like some outstanding, unattainable height. 'Born To Die', 'Blue jeans' rounds the list.

They really didn't attract me too much until I heard Radio again a few times and now quite enjoy them, otherwise I would have passed them over.

I see many women with the pouting lips and I am not sure I understand the attraction, perhaps it can be me as I prefer natural looking women.
