TTT - Fine Young Cannibals
Hello Hive Music Lovers!,
Welcome to another #threetunetuesday created originally by @ablaze.
This week I feature an underrated band from the 80s who had some big hits but I think flew mostly under the radar, even with the extremely great talent of the lead singer Roland Gift.
They have quite a few good tunes and it will be hard to narrow it down, so I chose 3 that give a mix of their unqiue sound.
The first tune is probably one of their most famous ones and a masterpiece. I think probably only the tune She Drives Me Crazy is more well known that this one and it is also a great tune and a testament to the talent of the band.
If you were to describe the music, they are said to be a Pop Rock band which I would say is pretty right. They have quite a pop sound with a bit of rock to them with the guitars too.
The guys were also producing tunes well into the 90s and I have seen some live performances recently of Roland too. His voice is in good shape and he is still going strong!
Good Thing
The second tune for today is a different side to the band and a pretty deep and thoughtful one. Probably when you have one of those reflective moments, this is one of those bangers from the band to put on and bring some clarity.
It is a big change from some of their bigger hits and I think an untapped gem. The band were formed in Birmingham, UK but didn't actually have a number 1 single hit in the UK. I think they were well received in the UK at the time, so it is a suprise they were not hitting the number 1 spot. However, they did hit get a US number 1 twice.
I'm Not The Man I Used To Be
The final tune is another banger from the band and this time another great sound and showcase of the talent of Roland. Not only is his voice epic, he is busting some cool dance moves here too!
This tune has a more 80s vibe and synth wave feel to it and is of course a cover version of the awesome Buzzcocks tune Ever Fallen In Love. Although the original is hard to beat, I think they did a pretty decent cover version.
They have got a few great cover versions under their belt and this is one of my favorites with that 80s synth-wave vibe, plus loving the original! haha
Ever Fallen In Love
That wraps up my #ttt for this week. I hope you are having a great musical Tuesday. What are you listening to this week?
For those unfamiliar with TTT or Three Tune Tuesday.... to quote @ablaze :
The jist is as follows
Every Tuesday I'm going to share 3 songs which I like to listen to and I invite your feedback in the comments below. Better still, why not have a blast of your own Three Tune Tuesday and mention me in the post and I'll come and find the post and upvote it. If you could also use #threetunetuesday tag that would be great, as that is what I use when sifting through all the entries every Wednesday. It'll be a sweet way for us all to discover new music. You'll also be in with a chance of winning the prize.
Be sure to head over and give @ablaze some support as without his great work, we wouldn't have a #ttt.

I saw these guys live at a gig in Manchester, UK in the early 1980s. I was a student at university there at the time. They were excellent and Roland has a fabulous voice as well as a great stage presence. I think he did some acting as well not long after this.
Ahh that is so cool. He does have a great voice and stage presence, he seems very confident and has some acting background I think.
A nice collection of songs! I only know the big hits by them. I have never really dug into the rest of their catalog. I seem to be saying a lot of that lately.
Yeah, it is great to find some good back catalog stuff from bands that you like though!
Great selection, Steve! I confess that my favourite song is I’ve been thinking about you, hehe… but I knew these too.
Thats a lovely tune, I do like it alot also. 😀
Yeah, I remember this band, the first one was a big hit I think.
!DHEDGE

Nice collection which you provided mate. Fallen in love, I liked the most among these three.
Regards
Thats a great tune I think. Love the cover.
They were a great band! Weren't they an offshoot of The English Beat after the breakup? It was a shame they only produced the one album though, they were good!
They were super and yes were an offshoot of The English Beat. They had a shed load of great tracks on that album though!
I also liked General Public as well, FYC just produced some amazing music!
I will have to check them out. 💪👍

Wonderful Sounds, almost forgotten memories of my youth
!LUV
They had a great and unique sound. Drive Me Crazy is a great tune and another of their US hits.
Awesome, you got a classic playlist for sure. Lyrics and all are top notch tho that video is something I love more from good ol music.
Thanks man. Some classic tunes here. 😃
I remember my first visit to the US in '89 and 'She Drives Me Crazy'being on the radio at lot. I didn't know they were so popular over there, here.., they were top 10 but no more and the disappeared.
Yeah, I'm am surprised they were bigger in the States. Not even a number 1 single. Very surprising.
This week I have listened to some music in spanish, there is a heavy metal band called Mägo de Oz, they combine rock with Celtic music, they are new in my repertoire, not bad at all.
You gave us wonderful collections of songs
I love them!
Thanks, I'm glad you liked them.
Amazing selection men i like it a lot
A big hug
Thanks, I'm glad you liked them.
I had forgotten about this band, it's great that you brought it to #ttt
I think it's cool that Roland keeps his voice, I think it's the only thing that doesn't age in us, besides the spirit.
Hugs!
That's could be very true and a great thought. 😊❤️
You've been curated by @amazingdrinks! Delegations welcome!
o.o do u know the story behind how they got their name. all these songs before i was born O.O. i think my time there was alr color these still in black and white :x. i think the second one is the best @_@
I don't know how they came up with the name, but yeah from the 80s again. It's hard to find much good modern music, although I have something more recent today.
woah there's a lot of good modern music . what do u mean O.O or maybe it's just not your taste i guess
'I'm Not The Man I Used To Be' is definitely therapeutic, especially when one is going through a transformative process! I like it the most but the other two sound great too :)
Yeah it is abit therapeutic I think. They have a few great tunes although they are not so well known.
