Splinterlands Battle Mage - Healed Out
Hello Splinterfans!
This week we have the new Battle Mage Secrets weekly challenge with the ruleset Healed Out.
When I see the ruleset healed out, I am usually thinking "Oh no!", as this usually throws a spanner into the works of some of my goto deck combinations. However, depending on the mana size, there are a few combinations that I still like.
With Healed Out, you do not get any healing abilities and this can severly weaken some of your monsters and effect your tank. Some other things to consider instead are monsters that may provide other buffs such as shield or scavenger where a monster gains health when another monster dies.
In today's battle, I have gone with my goto earth magic deck due to the high mana of the battle.
My Team
This is a high-mana battle with also unprotected, so there is no shields to protect anyone.
Summoner/ Monster | Reason |
---|---|
Obsidian | Magic buff |
Grund | Double strike attack |
Mycelic Slipspawn | Taunt & Forecfield abilities |
Queen Mycelia | Mistaken choice, should have choosen something better |
Goblin Psychic | Silence ability |
Kron the Undying | Strong magic and health |
Runemancer Florre | Strong attack and health |
My opponents
Summoner/ Monster | |
---|---|
Kelya Frendul | |
Diemonshark | |
Flying Squid | |
Water Caller | |
Deeplurker | |
Kulu Mastermind | |
Runemancer Kye |
The rules for the battle are:
Healed Out | All healing abilities are removed from summoners and monsters. |
Heavy Hitters | All monsters have the knock out ability. |
Unprotected | Monsters do not have any armor and do not get any from abilities or summoner buffs. |

ROUND 1 - Grund vs. Diemonshark
Two old powerful foes face-off today. Who will be victorious? The powerful Grund with his double-strike ability or the strong Diemonshark, both with trample ability.

The answer is yes, even with his fast speed, it is not enough to hold off my onslaught. He and Flying Squid both fall in the first round.
ROUND 2

This leaves a face-off between Goblin Psychic and the powerful Kulu Mastermind for round 3. With no healing abilities, the monsters are dropping like flies.
ROUND 3
Goblin Psychic is the first to fall, but Kron the Undying and Runemancer Florre manage to dispose of Kulu Mastermind.
ROUND 4-6
It is now 2 against 1. Surely it should be an easy victory, except Runemancer Kye has the lifeleech ability, this is boosting her health each round. Sadly it is not enough though as I claim victory in the end.
Summary:
Using the healed out strategy requires to make sure you have enough health in your monsters or it would be a quick game. Some things to consider are the awesome life leech ability that my opponent used here or scavenger ability that I mentioned before to give you an extra edge.
It could have been a different story had my opponent considered my magic attack and used Djinn Oschannus as tank, but luckily for me he didn't.
How do you play the Healed Out ruleset?
Thanks for reading.

It was a close game. Your opponent came out guns blazing, and ran out of steam in the last round. He should be probably fielded an oshannus to reduce the magic attack. Great win for you.
Thanks, it was pretty close in the end, I think you are right with Oshannus.
I have so few healing cards that this doesn't impact me too much. I don't really feel like it has a huge outcome on my brawl battles. I could be wrong though.
In the earth and light deck, there is a bit of healing missing. I am getting more used to it now, but is not my favourite game rules.
Ah yeah, I understand. I wish they had a couple more healing cards in the death splinter, but I understand why they don't.
yes, it would be unstoppable! lol I have been upgrading my death deck lately
Death is probably my weakest splinter. I should really focus on it as well.
great win! very close match.

Hello, I like "Runemancer Florre", its double attack is very useful.👍👍👍
Thanks, she is very useful, but high mana cost.
That means you should avoid using the Legendary Earth Monster Runemancer Florre which requires 13 Mana on Battles with low Mana Cap. 🤓
Anyway, its lack of any Ability makes it good for Battles with the Back to Basics Rule where all Monsters lose their Abilities for the Battle. 😏

I just won a battle with just Runemancer Florre. She comes in handy.
Hope you were not simply lucky to have won using Runemancer Florre on that Battle! 🤗 It makes sense to put that Monster at or near the back of your team, unless the Battle has the Close Range Rule or you are using the Epic Earth Summoner Fernheart. 🤓

With 13 Health at all Levels, Runemancer Florre can be a good Tank, especially if it can perform Ranged Attacks at the first position. 😎😏
