Freshly Squeezed Ice-Cold Orange Juice

Hello Amazing Drinks Community,

This is my first post into this great community. With the summer here, it is a good time to prepare some of your favorite refreshing drinks. At the moment, me and my wife are really craving for oranges. My wife is eating them and I am making a drink from them and I will share that with you today.

First I took 4 big oranges from our citrus fruit bowl. These are the larger oranges that my wife likes to eat, not the smaller juicing oranges. She gets mad when I juice these. It is lucky that I am in her good books at the moment.

I then proceeded to cut them in halves ready for squeezing.

Once cut in half, they are looking very juicey!!

I then start to blend them and made a short video. I have a special orange juicing machine that juices the oranges really well.

After I have juiced a couple, I made a photo to show my progress.

Finally they are all juiced and I can poor my fresh orange juice.

4 Oranges made a pint of tasty orange juice which is pretty good going. I am having orange cravings so my body probably needs to have the vitamin C. The machine is only a cheap one, but really good and beats squeezing just by hand. It is much faster.

The most important part is to now add ice cubes to make the orange very cool and refreshing. The ice cubes make a HUGE difference to the taste and 100 times more refreshing in the summer time.

I leave the ice to cool down the orange juice while I clean the machine. I like to get it cleaned up straight away ready for the next time I need a juice in a hurry.

Ice does make a huge difference! It makes you crave more of the drink :)
For me, fresh orange drink is the best fruity drink to have in summer :)

That looks like a most refreshing glass of orange juice. I have never added ice to my freshly squeezed orange juice. It is so warm here in Amsterdam - I need cooling off. I will try it today.

You did the squeezing manually, right? I just wonder what it will be like putting it inside a freezer instead of adding ice cubes which is just like diluting it

The squeezing was with a machine, you can see in the video. Possibly it could be good in the freezer, but i didnt try it.

Orange is my favorite winter fruit sadly it's summers here so not available. We also do not have the electric blender designed for oranges but we do have the manual one. I simply love the sour/sweet taste of oranges they really freshen me up to maximum levels. Thanks for sharing your recipe will try as well.

Especially if it is natural oranges one. Sadly in our country we do not have imported oranges in summers and also we do not get oranges in cans as well so the only time we get oranges are in winters I think. The orange juices that are sold in those aluminum boxes are very good too but I heard some people complain saying they get itching related issues of regular use of over 1+ year so I would recommend all to use the natural oranges juice over the boxes one any time really.

Thanks, it is a good drink. I luckily have stayed on her good side so she didn't get so mad when I juiced her oranges. Today I will replace them and buy some of my own :)

Yes how did you know I was thirsty haha. I am reminded of a little town in Mexico where I would go to the corner every morning and get the fresh squeezed orange juice. It's the only way to drink orange juice.

I can't believe I haven't put ice cubes in orange juice yet. I do it with lemonade so why not orange right?

Whenever I see those juicing machines out and about, I get really tempted. With the heat over 30 degrees here, I need it cool in the summer! I bought some lemons today and a pineapple, im not sure which drink I should do this week! Both are really tempting! :)

I bought a used juicer for 20 dollars because people buy new ones and never use them then give them away. For orange juice,I peel oranges and put them in there during one of the few times that I ever use my juicer.

Thanks for reminding me that I even have one tucked away.
