Water Direct Delivered! Official release date - 18.07.2025

Final Update Before Public Release of Water Direct
I’d like to share my last post and update about the Water Direct film before its official release! I’ve given it plenty of time to make the rounds — submitting it to festivals, reaching out to people, and discussing it.

So far, only a handful of people have seen the film — around 200 viewers in total across a few select screenings. But that’s about to change. The film will be publicly released on July 18, 2025.

As I’ve said from the beginning, this film is a powerful representation of what Hive truly is. Let’s take a look back at what has happened so far.

Pre-Screening in Croatia

Event: HiveFest

The first-ever screening happened during HiveFest, and I was incredibly excited to show it to the Hive community. This was during an intense production period, with a lot of work going into preparing the film just in time for the event.

This screening was aimed at people already familiar with Hive, blockchain, and the ecosystem. For Hivians, the film’s message was clear and relatable, unlike for those unfamiliar with blockchain concepts.

Originally, I had planned to rent out a cinema and invite an audience — but plans shifted. Instead, I was invited to screen the film during Slot Day.

I didn’t promote it heavily; only a small group attended — mostly Slot attendees and a few from Hive, including @gandalf and @mtyszczak.

For many, blockchain was a fascinating yet overwhelming topic. Context wasn’t easy to grasp, but our post-screening Q&A helped demystify some concepts. People left with a better understanding — seeing blockchain not just as a tool for profit, but one for good deeds and positive change.

Final Screening at @krolestwo's 10th Anniversary

Event: @krolestwo 10-Year Celebration

The final screening took place during the 10th anniversary of @krolestwo. Knowing the venue’s limited space, I chose not to promote the event heavily. My philosophy: those meant to see it, would be there.

Together with @hallmann, we organized this final showing and invited @mcsammm to join and speak about the Ghana projects. I hosted Sam during his stay in Kraków, aiming to share the best of our culture, places, and hospitality.

The @krolestwo community welcomed Sam warmly — further proof that building a community around the Hive spirit here in Kraków is not only possible, but already happening.

Before the screening, we had a chocolate-making workshop using beans that @mcsamm brought all the way from a village in Ghana where Hive supported the installation of a borehole.

The audience at this event was a mix — some knew nothing about Hive or blockchain, while others were regulars at @krolestwo like @mciszczon, @gwyddpel, and @szmulkberg. We held a Q&A session afterward, answering as many detailed questions as we could.

That’s it for the film tour! At this point, I can say I’ve done everything I could — submitting to various festivals, organizing screenings, and pushing for visibility — all within a limited budget.

Water Direct will drop on July 18, 2025 — exactly 500 days after I pressed "Record" for the first time on my camera.
