Stand at Slot Art & Hive & Krolestwo
Last month, we were invited to the Slot Art Festival to host a stand in the "Social Initiatives Zone" (Strefa Inicjatyw Społecznych).
This year, the main theme of the festival was "Connection" (Połączenia), which is why @krolestwo and Hive were combined in one shared stand.
From day one, I aimed to present Hive as prominently as possible. Initially, I tried to arrange a film screening, but that idea was eventually dropped. Instead, I proposed hosting a technology workshop. The program coordinators agreed, so the next step was finding the right person to lead the workshops.
In March, I contacted @deepresearch to see if he would be interested, and without hesitation, he said yes. He proceeded with the registration and preparation, and I have to admit—he did an excellent job, running four days of workshops and supporting us at the stand afterward!
Preparation & Logistics
A lot of work went into the preparation before the event—from designing postcards and planning activities to organizing logistics and handling necessary paperwork (like Certificate of no criminal record). We also exchanged plenty of emails with the organizers to finalize everything. Once all was confirmed, we were ready to show up at the festival.
At our stand, there were many logistical details to manage. We carefully planned every element—from designing and distributing cool gadgets like handmade leather keychains by @xayu-s
Themed watercolor postcards by @hrechkosii.wla,
or ceramic necklaces by @hallmann, as well as other items brought from @krolestwo.
Interactive activities included Novuss (a Baltic board game),
A film screening of Water Direct and looping projection of the Hive logo, as well as cocoa bean tasting, thanks to @mcsamm, who brought them to Poland a few weeks prior, “Post office - Post to Yourself” station, where visitors could write a postcard that will be sent to them later, or a treasure hunt game created by @wstawarz.
All these elements gave our stand a unique and engaging look, and I truly believe it was a great representation of what Hive is about.
Many people came by, asked questions, and showed genuine interest in blockchain. It's important to remember that even in 2025, blockchain remains unfamiliar—or even misunderstood—for many. Some still associate it with negative connotations. That's why every thoughtful detail and every bit of shared knowledge mattered.
For some visitors, it felt like opening a door to a whole new world. @deepresearch and I managed to onboard a few people. I’ve already seen several posts from @panwinyl, who seems to be one of those who is genuinely hooked.
On top of that, we received fantastic feedback from the festival organizers, who told us:
"Your stand was the best—most interactive and engaging among all others."
This meant a lot, especially as we’re hoping to return next year with even greater presence and energy.
Aside from running the stand, we also took part in a one-hour panel discussion with Fundacja Panoptykon and Wikipedia, exploring topics like:
The role of social media today,
Digital security,
Building healthy online communities.
( Sorry for a quality )
Slot Art Festival is five days of intense, inspiring programming: concerts, workshops, lectures, performances, film screenings, and open spaces for dialogue. It takes place in a truly unique setting—the former Cistercian monastery in Lubiąż, the largest abbey in the world—attracting thousands of participants from across Poland.
Yes I was there, @deepresearch hooked me, but I joined the Hive After festival. Nevertheless, I am very happy to have joined!
I was captivated by the Hive stand, just by the images shown. How could those who had the opportunity to attend in person not be enamored? I know next year will be spectacular; the wealth of human creation is an inexhaustible source.
