5 minute freewrite 2968 prompt vegetarian shark

This is my post for #freewriters 2968 prompt vegetarian shark hosted by @mariannewest
I have been telling my sister that I dread it when the bonnethead sharks show up. They fight as hard as a pompano, but you have to throw them back. We caught a couple the other day, so I think they are showing up.
I did not know bonnetheads were considered a vegetarian shark until I saw this prompt and had to look up the meaning of it. I was thinking, what kind of prompt is this? Sharks don't eat seagrass, they are not vegetarians. They eat other fish and people.
Well, the saying is true, you are never too old to learn something new. The bonnethead shark is known as an omnivorous shark. This means it eats both meat, fish, sandfleas, crabs, shrimp, and plants like seagrass. Great, something else that will eat the seagrass that is trying to make a comeback.

All night, I felt bad because I did not protect my big desert rose plants last night. Even though it will not be as cold tonight, it will still be too cold for them, somewhere in the 40s. I bunched them together today.

I was still not happy with them being in the cold, so I wrapped cardboard around the pots.

I made two clusters of them and thought the cardboard would not be enough to keep them warm. I laid palm fronds around them and on top. I had a piece of weedmat that I could cover one cluster with, time will tell if one worked better than the other or if both will fail to keep them warm enough. They have gotten too big to bring inside.
I hope everyone has a safe New Year's Eve and a very Happy and Healthy New Year.

I was today years old when I learned sharks were omnivores ... we gotta pray for the sea grass and the desert roses in 2026!
