My husband sanded the JB Weld that I patched the motor with. He wrapped sandpaper around a block of wood that went across the entire gasket area. Then he took a metal file and laid it from one side to the other, it showed a high spot, so he sanded some more. He finally said that was the best he could get it.

I decided it would be best to put gasket sealer on it, so my sister took me to the auto store. I could only find one small tube for a gasket that water went through, it was for a water pump, but I was afraid it would not be enough. Then I saw a tube that did not say it was a sealer, it was called gasket coating, and said it fills in indents. That is what I needed and bought. Now I need to let it cure, the longer the better, but they say 12 to 24 hours.

After getting the motor back together, my sister and I worked on everything that needed it so we can fish the day after Christmas. Line needed to be changed on one reel, an eye put on one rod, one rod needed a hole drilled through the ring that tightens the reel so a screw could be put in it to hold it in place, another reel needed to be tightened on the rod, rigs needed to be changed, gas poured up, the charger needed to be put on the battery, and rigs made. We did everything except making more rigs.

Neither of us wants to go the day after Christmas, but our days are numbered, by next week, there will be no salvation from the cold weather. Every day the temperature is to drop, and by Wednesday it is to be in the 40s. I would rather it do that than what it has been doing, we will have 80F and the next day it will be in the 40s. At least if it does what they say, it will slowly get colder each day.

This will either push the fish south, or if any stay, they will not bite if the water temperature falls below 65. When they go south, we used to follow them, but now with the price of gas and how busy the roads are, I doubt we do that.

I went by the fish house to find out when they will be buying fish. They said it will be open on Friday, I did not expect them to be open the next day. They used to be when the old manager was there, but this one seems to want to close whenever he can. Fish houses used to never be closed, the fishermen would pack their fish in boxes with ice and leave them in the ice room.
