5 minute freewrite 2933 prompt fool’s gold

This is my post for #freewriters 2933 prompt fool’s gold hosted by @mariannewest
My husband and I left this morning to get more sandfleas. When we crossed the bridge, the river looked like a sheet of glass, there was not a ripple on it.

We stopped at the beach where my sister and I were getting them. We saw fleas, but as soon as we dug in them, they would go down, and we would not see any more. Someone must have been there right before us.

We left the surfer's beach and went to Whities. That is where we got them. My husband always wants to go north, so I go south. He always does better than I do.

But not today, he said they quit on him, so he worked back over the area he had just been down. I never ran out of fleas, they were getting better for me, but since I saw him working back, I thought his bucket was full, so I started back toward him.

I always keep an eye out for gold, but my luck, it would turn out to be fool's gold. With all the years I have been getting sandfleas, I have never dug up anything of value.
On the way home, we stopped at the fish house to get ice so we could blanch the fleas. I called my sister to tell her where we were at. Last night she told me to call her, and she would help package them.
I am tired, and my body hurts, so that is all.
