Just because I smiled for the photo does not mean I was happy. We had to pick up an expensive bag of food from the food pantry this morning. A couple of weeks ago, we missed a good day fishing because my sister wanted to sign up for a Thanksgiving basket from the food pantry. Today was the day to pick up the food basket.

My sister said she would be here at 8 this morning, and we could hook her truck to the boat and take my truck to get the basket. When she got here, I said, lets go get in line so we can get going fishing. we drove there and there was no line, and they were handing out the baskets early.

By the time we idled out of the creek and across the river, we were trailing behind my husband by four and one half hours. He had already caught twelve pompano.

We anchored several times on the North Bar and only caught one. My husband left the bar and headed to Long Point. We were pulling our rods in to go that way when my husband called and said he was catching. We fished all over Long Point for two more fish.

My husband weighed up 46 pounds, my sister and I left our three fish iced down in the boat.

I do not think I have ever been so discouraged by the fixings for a Thanksgiving dinner. There is also a voucher for a 15 dollar turkey. By the time we put our boat in the water, my husband had caught over 200 dollars worth of fish.
