5 minute freewrite 2885 prompt door to somewhere
This is my post for #freewriters 2885 prompt door to somewhere hosted by @mariannewest
Before trout season started back in May I bought 150 pounds of squid to use in our pigfish traps. As it turned out my sister and I did not catch enough trout to make any money. My husband used some, but we have over 100 pounds left and they are taking up room in the bait freezer. We now need the freezer for sandfleas because it is time to start pompano fishing. My sister and I took a package of them to the bait store to see if they would buy them.
At the bait store, the parking in front was full, so we parked around back. There was a sign that said entrance with an arrow. We followed the sign around the building, passing 3 doors that were all locked. Around the corner, there was a full sliding glass door, it was locked. Next to it was another single door, it was locked. We walked three sides of the building, and the only door to somewhere was in front, where all of the cars were parked. We went inside and asked if they would buy the squid, they said no, they did not want the squid.
Next, we took the money we found to the bank. I told my sister I would split it with her. The bank knows me and asked where I got the money. I told her about cleaning the shed, and she asked if it was my shed. I said yes, I was letting someone stay in it, and now I am cleaning it out and found the money. Then she told me it was counterfeit money. She showed me the serial numbers on two of the twenties that did not match up are the same number, and the fifty is smaller than real fifty dollar bills. She told me to take them home and burn them. I am glad they know me, and the law was not called.
The next thing I wanted to do today was go to Home Depot and buy wood to build Rudy a new house. The box house I made for him is collapsing when he gets on top of it. The center seam is opening and last night I saw his foot go through it. I have watched him at night when he is on top of it, and it looks like he is watching TV, he stares at it. I bought a half sheet of birch wood and a long piece of one inch by half inch kiln dried pine to put it together with.
I do not know why he was so mad at me this morning, unless he got stuck in the seam of his house last night, I heard him making a ruckus, but when I went to see what was going on, he was on the floor of his cage. This morning, when I opened his door to give him his morning apple snack, he attacked me like he has never done before. He ran up to me and jumped on my chest, and kept scratching me. I had to push him off and shut the cage door.
