This notable quotation came true today, "one man's trash is another man's treasure". While cleaning the shed my sister and I found three twenty dollar bills, but each one was only half of a twenty. This made me wish we had paid closer attention when we were throwing things away.
She told me that years ago, she had half of a ten and took it to her bank, and they gave her a new ten dollar bill for it.

Yesterday, I picked all of the rocks from the bed and thought all that was left was trash. Today, we took all of the flower pots that we were putting trash and rocks in off, and she swept all of the trash into a pile. I laid a flower pot on the floor for her to sweep the garbage into. I yelled stop! There is another twenty.

It was wadded up, and I unfolded it, and to our surprise, it was a fifty dollar bill. She does not know this yet, but if the bank trades the twenties and the fifty for new bills, I am going to split it with her.

In the morning, we will take the last load of trash from inside the shed to the dump. After that, I might tell my sister, why don't we take a couple of days off before we start on the yard. We have been working on it for six days now, and it is getting to my back. I am afraid that if I push it much more, I will not be able to do anything.

Another notable quotation my oldest son wrote on the wall of his bedroom when he was in his teens. "You do it to yourself". This is one that my youngest son needs to think about. He wants to blame everyone else for his problems, and he never takes responsibility for his actions. I have tried to help him the best I could, but he has pushed me too far this time. It hurts me, but I can not have him doing the things he is doing and having someone else living here in secret doing the same as he is doing.

"You don't have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step." If I could only see him take the first step. All I can do now is pray he gets clean and that he does not overdose like so many of his friends.
