This is my post for #freewriters 2839 prompt painter hosted by @mariannewest

I do not know the painter of this cat. I took the picture from a painting that was on the wall at a vet's office. It was odd because it was a cat on the wall of the room they put us in with the dog. I guess they do not discriminate.

For at least a year now, I have been thinking that I need to get off of the pain meds, but I need something to take their place. I have been on them for a long time, and I can tell a difference in my health and attitude. I do not enjoy things like I used to, and I have been losing too much weight, not to mention feeling like crap all of the time.

I was eating edibles to help with my appetite, but my doctor did not like me eating them. I tried plain CBD, and it did nothing for me. I read about wild lettuce and ordered seeds and a bottle of tincture. The seeds will not germinate until the temperature is under 85°F, and it takes 2 years to grow. The tincture I ordered was made with water, everyone says to get the pain relieving properties, it has to be made with alcohol. I took it for a few days, and it gave me a slight headache.

I was reading on a natural remedy site about CBG and how it helps with chronic pain. I talked to my doctor before ordering it, and she told me we will try it, and the next time I come in, she will drug test me. If I fail, then I can not take the CBG. I have taken it for 2 days now, and it has not helped. I also found a site that sold the wild lettuce, and I ordered 4oz to make tea with. It has not come yet.

Two months ago, my doctor cut me from a 50 mg fentanyl patch to a 20mg. I took the 20 for one month and quit putting one on the last week of July. For one week, things were not good. I did not have any sweating or shaking, the doctor asked me that, but I did feel very uncomfortable, nothing I did helped. To help get by that week, I took extra pills, but now I am back to the normal amount.

After getting over the withdrawal from the fentanyl, I tried going as long as I could stand it without taking a pain pill, but that did not work.

I googled how to stop opioids, and Google wants me to talk to my doctor or go to a rehab.

Until I can find something to help curb the pain, I do not think I will be able to stop taking them.

I am not giving up, there has to be something other than taking opioids to relieve pain.

The pills have never done anything to help the pain I have in my hand. As long as I do not move it, I am ok. But as soon as the bones move, it is a terrible pain of bone on bone.

It has started hurting while using the mouse and typing, which is why I have not been on the computer much, and why I am stopping this post.

Praying for you ... bone-on-bone is especially tough to deal with

EDIT: I was watching a video on the noni fruit (Morinda citrifolia), and presumably, the leaves make a pain relieving tea.

I could tell you a few homeopathic remedies to try, if you like. Homeopathy can often greatly benefit pain. And help with Opioid cessation. What is the diagnosis? Is it the result of an injury? I'm so sorry to hear you're having such a hard time!

I would love to hear about any pain relieving remedies you have. The pain in my hand is from the cartilage being gone between the bones on the top of my hand. My back pain is what I take the meds for, it is an injury, I tore three discs.

I didn't see this message until now for some reason.

Were you diagnosed with herniated discs? Please tell me any official diagnoses if there were any.

It's so easy and quite inexpensive with homeopathy. It is likely to relieve your pain within two months, possibly sooner. Doesn't work like pharmaceuticals, actually heals the injuries that cause the pain, which takes time. You can keep taking whatever it is you take while doing the rememdies.

They are not herniated. I have 3 torn discs. They are ripped from the inside to the outside, he said, to think of a doughnut and rip the inside of the hole. It is L1, L2, and L4.
He has sealed them twice, but I keep ripping them back open.

I would love to take your remedy if you think it will help.

Try this:

  • Symphytum 200c, twice a day.

  • Ruta graveolens 200c, twice a day.

  • Hypericum 200c, as needed, whenever the pain is escalating or really bad. If there's little to moderate pain, don't take it. If it's awful pain, take a dose every 10 minutes (or so) until it isn't awful anymore - this is something you have to get the hang of. If you see no relief after trying Hypericum at least four doses for acute pain, then we will try something else. But continue the Symphytum and Ruta twice a day even if the Hypericum does not give relief.

Both the Ruta and the Symphytum could very well help with the pain, too. Our goal is not to stop the pain, but rather to watch it lessen over time. You do this protocol for six or eight weeks, then we decide how well it's working. It is very likely to help at least some, if not considerably.

Here is a screen shot of the order form for the remedies I just suggested, from Washington Homeopathic Products. The first time you order, it's best if you just call them with the order:

Thank you for doing this for me. Is there anything in any of it that I will fail a drug test by taking? My doctor checks for drugs.
I am excited to try it.

No. Symphytum is comfrey, Ruta is meadow rue, and Hypericum is St john's wort, in infinitesimally small amounts, undetectable even if you were tested specifically for those. I am also excited or you to try it.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you. I can't wait to try it, but first I need to check with my doctor to make sure there is nothing that will mess with my medications.

You managed to get off Fentanyl? God bless you!

After getting over the withdrawal from the fentanyl, I tried going as long as I could stand it without taking a pain pill, but that did not work.

Oops, no, you didn't stay off:

Until I can find something to help curb the pain, I do not think I will be able to stop taking them.

I'm sorry for all this chronic pain - a lifetime of hard work in a fishing boat - our bones wear out. All the cartilege between the joints also wears out.
#CBG
I was just reading about Delta 8 and 9, after Eric @ericvancewalton wrote in a reply to @owasco's post on chickens, My Mom has had great luck with THC for sleep, anxiety and arthritis.

CBG, or cannabigerol, shows promise for pain relief by interacting with the body's endocannabinoid system, potentially reducing pain signals without the psychoactive effects associated with THC.

Praying you find some pain relief!!

I'm so sorry to hear about your chronic pain @myjob! I'll share some of what I've learned researching for my Mom's arthritis and neuropathy. CBD oil and Delta 9 gummies work amazingly well for pain. The Delta 9 (5-10mg of the Indica strain) can be used at night before bed and the CBD oil or Delta 9 (5mg Sativa strain) during the day (Cycling Frog is one of my favorites).

I also was turned on to an amazing homeopathic remedy for my own rotator cuff injury— it's Young Living's Deep Relief. This stuff was a Godsend for me while my shoulders were healing.

Also, we learned researching for my Mom's conditions that it helps TREMENDOUSLY to get on an anti-inflammatory diet. Sugar is the biggest culprit and seed oils. Anything in the diet that causes inflammation makes chronic pain a whole lot worse.

Thank you for this information. I will look into the CBD oil and Delta 9 gummies, if they do not have THC in them. My doctor said no to anything with it in it.

Did she rub the oil on where she hurt or take it orally?

My Dad would buy a horse liniment from the feed store for his arthritis. I do not recall the name, but I can recall the smell.

You're welcome! The Delta 9 does have THC but the CBD oil doesn't. CVSciences has the best CBD oil we've found. You take this orally and it helps if you hold it under your tongue for a few seconds before you swallow it, it gets into your system a little faster that way. Did your doctor mention why he/she advised against using THC? It's beneficial in so many ways.

The Young Living oil is topical so you just rub that into the joints or areas where you have pain. It works pretty well. It's the only thing that would calm the soreness down at night when I had rotator cuff injuries.

My grandfather used to use all kinds of remedies like that too. I remember a product in a little green tin called bag balm. They used it on the dairy cows but it was great for dry skin in the wintertime.

Let me know if you have any other questions and I hope you find some relief for that pain.

My doctor is against anything marijuana, I even tried hemp edibles, and he said no. He will not give me the pain meds if I eat them. I also had hemp oil and did what you said with it, but my doc said no to it, too.

I remember my aunt had bag balm, get stuff. It was made for putting on cow tits when they got cracked and sore.

That's too bad. The THC provides so many benefits over pharmaceutical pain meds. Yes! I still remember how Bag Balm smelled. We used to use it for dry skin in the wintertime. When we were young we'd be out for hours sledding through the snow and would come in with chapped skin.

The Fentinyl was a patch I wore. I did get off of it. I still take a Percocet pill for the pain. I want to find something else for pain other than pharmaceuticals.

I was taking a THC tincture for sleep, and was eating the edibles to help my appetite, then my doctor drug tested me and said I can not take anything with THC in it.

I bought a bottle of CBG/CBD tincture, and it does not help.

Now I ordered wild lettuce to make tea. I hope it works.
