5 minute freewrite 2824 prompt smooth as sandpaper
This is my post for #freewriters 2824 prompt smooth as sandpaper hosted by @mariannewest
My sister has a friend that she takes to dialysis twice a week, so we could not start working on her camper until she got home around 11.
The refrigerator was in the big opening. It ran on gas or electric but did not keep anything cold, so my sister wanted rid of it, but she ripped the entire front off the cabinet when she took it out.
We gave her a small fridge to put in it, but I told her I would not want to be bending that far down each time I wanted something out of it. I would have put it outside the camper, on a table. She wanted it back where the other one was. After all, at 64 she is the baby and can still bend.
They had a little trouble getting the slider on the bottom of the drawer, but they finally got it, and now the drawer slides as smooth as sandpaper. Unless you are using emery cloth, that is a strange statement, sandpaper is not smooth.
Her camper is nice, but it is as much work as setting up a tent. Everything has its place when taking it down. There is a handle that goes behind the sink and stove. You pull it forward, and it sets them on the floor. Across from the stove is a cabinet, and the shelf that sits on top of it folds down.
There is a king size bed on each end, they slide in, but first, you have to take the table down. Now you can slide the table area in. You have to fold the canvas in before sliding, or as you slide.
My brain has not comprehended how this can work, but somehow these tracks fold or slide the door inside. Maybe that entire side folds in???
This exit sign is above the foot of one of the beds, on a side wall. There is a door 4 feet away, and the thing is screened in all the way around. You could jump through it, and they tell you to do all of this. That is not the funniest thing.
What is this for? We discussed it and decided someone in the company ordered 100s of them and they could not be returned, so they stuck them in the inside roof, and I bet they had a good laugh while installing it.
This is as far as it opens and it is too flimsy to pull on, and there is no space inside it for anything other than the "handle". We thought maybe to hang clothes on, but we think they will break it.
She said she might take the stove out, she does not trust the gas lines. I told her if she does take it out, I want it. I will have my husband build a stand for it, and I can do my canning on it outside. I prefer to can on gas, I hate doing it on the glasstop stove that I have.
