I am showing my age with this statement, but back in my day when someone told you something, you did not have any other way than their word or asking an Elder to tell you if what is being said is a myth or not a myth.

Things are easier nowadays, or are they? They are if you wanted to put in the time to do the research rather than believe what you see posted or on YouTube.

I like to watch the TV show called American Pickers and was sad when Frank had a stroke and later he passed away. One day, my middle sister was visiting, and it was on TV. She told me that the other two people on the show killed him. I told her that it has to be a myth.

She said it was not a myth she had seen the documentary about it on YouTube. I still told her it can not be true, if it was it would be all over the news. I told her people make up that sort of thing all of the time for "likes". She still argued with me. Why would they do that? My answer, because they can. IDK why they want to make up lies.

I brought Snopes up on my phone. Snopes said it was an AI-generated story. I showed it to her, and she still would not believe it.

She sat there and argued more as she started searching her phone for the proof of it being real. I tried to tell her it was like those posts that claim someone famous has died in a car crash, and she says, Oh, I never click on them. At least she is that smart.

I saw her a couple of weeks ago and she is still talking about the documentary, but this time she says, how can they make a documentary that is not true? At least she has come to terms of it not being true....

My husband fished today. he only caught 9 trout, they weighed 19 pounds. The last check he got, the fishhouse is still paying 4 dollars a pound. We both know if he catches very many, the price will drop. The fishhouse has done that every summer.
