My husband came back from his camping trip and made improvements to his tent. When he sets it up, on the back side is the only place that has a vent you can stake a rope to, and it keeps that side of the tent from bending in by the wind. The other two sides do not have anything to hold them out, and it takes up a lot of room on the inside.

He cut the waistband from an old pair of jeans and cut it to the size he wanted. He put fabric glue on it and tied a piece of string in a loop. The string is what he will tie his rope to stake it with.

He got on the inside of the tent, and I was on the outside, and we pressed our hands together to hold it in place until the glue set, it did not take long. I forgot to take a picture of him pulling on it to see how well it worked on holding the sides of the tent out.

He told me a story about how he felt his fishing confidence got taken down a several notches one day while on his camping trip. I hope I can define it to you in a way that you can understand the irony in it. He is an old commercial fisherman.

He brought worms and chicken livers to fish with. He wanted to catch a catfish for dinner, so he took the livers down to the water. He put the worms in the shade on the floor of his truck. He was fishing with the livers, but as soon as it hit the water, little fish ate it off. He reeled in one time and had a piece of bait left and a small largemouth bass hit it. He said it was too small to keep.

Then he heard a man and woman talking, the old lady was heading next to him, this is the part I need to define. My husband said this old lady had a plastic red and white cork, and right below the cork was a sinker that almost sunk the cork. Then there was a five foot leader to her hook. My husband said where they were fishing was only 3 foot deep. The old lady made one cast and reeled in a huge bluegill. Her husband yells, what is it, she says a crappy, he says are you sure it is not a bluegill, no she said it is a crappy. This went on the entire time it took her to get to her husband. In the end, he just agreed with her. My husband said it was a bluegill, the man knew when to pick his battles.

My husband went to the truck to get his worms, the sun had moved and now there was no shade, all the worms were dead. He had a hamburger for dinner.
