5 minute freewrite 2752 prompt split in two
This is my post for #freewriters 2752 prompt split in two hosted by @mariannewest
When you have a shallow well in Florida, your water will have a lot of iron, so when I filled the pool, the water looked brown. I had my sister take me to a pool supply place because they sell a stronger chloride than you can buy at Walmart. When we got to the pool store, there was a sign with their hours, it said, we are open when we want to be and closed when we want to be. On this day, they did not wish to be open, it was 1 o'clock. So we went to Walmart and I bought a jug of chloride there. My daughter had bought a chloride tablet and a little floating duck to hold it, so the best I could figure was to add 3 cups of chloride.
Today we went back to the pool store and I guess they were still not in the mood to open. I googled a pool supply store near me and found we have another one. My sister found a pool just like mine on Marketplace and was going to buy it today, so she wanted to get chlorine and testing strips at the pool store, too. Before we left the house my husband told me to only get testing strips for chlorine, he has them for PH.
I did not notice the price until I got in the truck, we both bought a bottle. There are 50 strips in one bottle. We should have bought one bottle, and we could have split in two one bottle. I know my husband is going to have a cow when he sees the price, it was 16 dollars, I am thinking of taking it back and getting some of my sister's strips. The chlorine was only 10 dollars for two gallons.
I asked the lady how much chlorine to put in for my size pool, she said a gallon a week. I told her we had a chlorine tablet, and I added 3 cups of liquid chlorine from Walmart. She told me it was not nearly enough, but look how much clearer the water is today than yesterday. Now my husband is saying a gallon a week of chlorine is going to be too much, and no one would be able to get in the pool because the chlorine will be too, high, the jug I bought a Walmart says for my size pool, 15 feet by 48 inches, it will take a little less than 4 cups a week. Now I have to wait until tomorrow to test it because after talking to the woman, I dumped half of the WM chlorine in it. I do not know what to do if it is too high. My little 10x3-foot pool was a lot easier to care for, I used one chlorine tablet a month in it.

Oh. Maintaining a pool with iron-rich water isn't easy, it's look like!
I think, it is not their way of earning bread and butter. It's just a negligible side job for them.

Once I get the right amount of chlorine, it should be okay, if I can maintain it.
