I ran out of steam today, so I did not get to the boat ramp to take my boat off the trailer and adjust the wench stand on it. Tomorrow they are calling for a 70% chance of rain. If that happens, it will not get done then either.
Today, my husband and I drove to Moody Tire and bought a new tire for the boat trailer. It was going to be a 2 hour wait, so we left it there, and my husband went back to get it while I took a long nap. But before the nap, we had to go to Walmart and buy a new battery for the boat. I did not feel up to walking across the store, so midway, I found a chair and waited for my husband to get the things he wanted, and of course, as always, they were out of it. After that, we went home, and I took a nap.
I should be thankful my sister is letting me use her boat trailer because if I had to buy one on top of everything else I have bought to get hers up and going I would be looking at close to a grand, I have spent 350 getting her trailer and my boat ready for us to fish. I hope we can catch enough to pay for it.
I only have three days to get everything finished on the boat and take it out on the river to make sure everything will work. Trout season started May first, but the bait is still too small to use.
The reason for only having 3 days is that my oldest daughter rented a house on the west coast for me, her daughter, and herself. The house is on the beach, but I am not sure of the town it is in. I have been talking about wanting to go to a beach over there so I could look for big shark teeth. I am going to take my husband's big sandflea rake to dig in the shells if the tide is high. Wouldn't it be fantastic if I dug into a waterfall of silver coins. That would cause a lot of excitement.
We will leave on the 7th and stay until the 11th. This will cover her birthday, my granddaughter's birthday, and Mother's Day, my Mother's birthday is in this, too.
When I get back I will put all of the pigfish traps in the river and leave them overnight, the next day I will take the crab traps and set them in the river then we will run the pigfish traps and pray we have bait, if not, we will have to pick it all back up and take everything back home for another week or two.
On our way home from Walmart, we saw several skydivers coming down in the preserve behind our house. I tried to get pictures of the closest ones, but could not get my camera to come up on my phone fast enough. In the photo, I got two of them that were still high in the sky. In the opening of the cloud, one is in the middle on the left, and the other is below the opening in the middle. They look like two black spots. I could count about 15 of them that fell in the woods. The plane was circling, I am sure they were talking with the pick up crew on the ground, but I do not know how they will get to the people, they can not drive where they landed, the parachute people will need to walk out carrying their chutes. At least this time, they all had their chutes open.
