This is my post for #freewriters 2715 prompt the last treasurer hosted by @mariannewest

Back in 1715, a fleet of Spanish treasure ships sank in my area. In the 1960s, some of them were found by Kip Wagner. That is when my Dad started metal detecting on the beach by our house. He was not the last treasurer, he was the last treasure hunter in my family. When the State made my home and 3 miles of beach a state park, they stopped treasure hunting with a metal detector. I have some of the coins Dad found, and I have several musket balls, some buttons, a shoe buckle, and some other things that I am not sure what they are.

In 1986, we hired an accountant. He did not like the idea that we were not married and told us to be married by the end of the year. We got married in December to please him, this year will be 39 years. The reason for this was that I had kids that he could not deduct unless we were married. He also set up our business, we became Sebastian River Seafood Corporation.

When we got into selling plants a nursery we sold to did not like buying from a seafood company, weird right? So we had to change the name to Sebastian River Corp, and not long after that, we quit selling to that nursery.

I was the last treasurer for Sebastian River Seafood, but when we changed the name, my husband was the one who said where the money went, so I guess he is now the treasurer. He tells me where I can take money from, he is the one who says what is bought and where the money goes, except for the household bills, he leaves that to me, whoopity whoop whoop!!! You can tell how much I enjoy paying bills. I think if he wants to handle all of the money, he should be the one who pays all of the bills.
