5 minute freewrite 2697 prompt a new dawn
This is my post for #freewriters 2697 prompt a new dawn hosted by @mariannewest
Well, a new dawn has risen over The Beast, and he is still with me. I am trying to sell it. I started at 5 thousand, and in 3 weeks, I have had no offers, so I lowered the price to 3 thousand, and I have had six offers. Three people wanted the running boards from it. One wanted the tires, and another said he had a good running boat and would trade me for it. That gave me a good laugh. I told him we were commercial fishermen, and the last thing we needed was another boat. The last one asked if I would take payments. I would do this if we lived how we used to live when a man's word was true. He said he was 19 years old and worked on a ranch and got paid every two weeks. I feel as if he would pay it off, but there are too many scammers out there for me to trust someone and that is a shame for the honest ones.
I feel let down when it comes to The Beast. All I have ever heard from every man who has looked twice at it was how much of a good engine it had in it. Two men even jokily told me at the gas pump that they would trade titles for their new Ford truck for The Beast. They and every other person brag about the engine, and when I tell them it is a 1997 and there are only 153K miles on it, they drool.
I have had men tell me to let them know if I ever want to sell it, one is even a broker type, he finds cars or trucks for people. I have told everyone it is for sale but no one is bragging on it now.
There are a few issues other than the frame being cracked, but they are all small things. I am not trying to sell it as a drivable truck because of the frame, but it could be welded. It needs new batteries or at least one new one. On the driver's side, you have to roll the window down and reach outside to open the door, and sometimes the passenger door will not unlock, so you have to open it from the inside. The Beast has a piece of PVC pipe for his gearshift, and he can only hold 8 gallons of fuel that you have to pump very slowly, or it spills out the spout. We did not get the right angle on the fuel hose when we built the new bed. And last but not least, the front driver's tire leaks air. It has aluminum rims and it does not make a good seal.

Looks like the beast has many issues!!
I hope that you find an authentic buyer!
