5 minute freewrite 2695 prompt a crowd of monsters
This is my post for #freewriters 2695 prompt a crowd of monsters hosted by @mariannewest
Yesterday my husband was sitting at Pepper Cove fishing when he saw a strange looking bird land on the water. He could not make out what kind of bird it was but he knew it did not belong in the middle of the river.
As he fished, he kept an eye on it, he said it would try to fly but could not get off the water. When he did not catch anything, he brought his lines in and went out to see if he could help it.
He said it let him pull the boat up next to it and dip it into his landing net. He said it was some type of heron. He said it sat on the floor of his boat looking at him. He wondered what was going through its mind. He took it to shore and tried to get it out of the net, but it had one wing folded into a hole in it. My husband had to handle the bird. He said it was all skin and bones.
As he left it on shore, he said it gave him a look as if he was leaving it in the woods with a crowd of monsters. What he really said was it looked at him as if to say, "What you are not going to kill me".
As he drove off, he remembered the bird flu that was going around. We have had many birds on our beaches and the shoreline of the river that have died from it, but luckily, he had hand sanitizer on the boat, so he washed his hands as good as he could.
He only caught 2 pompano, and now the wind is going to blow for maybe the next 4 days, so there will be no fishing. He did manage to make 500 dollars this week. That has always been the problem with fishing, you make a paycheck, then the wind blows so you can not make another one.....
Yesterday, I had the MRA with contrast, and when I took the bandage off, I saw my arm was bruised and swollen. A while later the swollen place was bigger, so my daughter told me to draw a circle around it to see if it was still getting bigger. This morning, it had gone down but was still bruised.
The Doctor has not read the report yet, but I saw it in My Chart. This is one change that I like.
This is good news, and I am happy I do not need any operation and stents, but it is also worrisome. Why can't they find out what is going on with me? I was shocked when the vascular surgeon's PA told me she had never heard of this happening to anyone before.
I also counted the number of tests they ran on me since trying to find out what was happening. 35 tests. That is why I was sick of taking test and seeing doctors and now they have me sucked back into that vicious loop.
