5 minute freewrite 2586 prompt a dark glare
This is my post for #freewriters 2586 prompt a dark glare hosted by @mariannewest
The sky had a dark glare to it, and they all knew the storm was coming, but no one was paying it any mind. Especially the littlest one, they call her call Gabby. Her human puts corn out every morning for her, but her human does not mind if we eat some too.
The birds get some corn, too, but on this day, we all had our eyes on the storm and were trying to eat as much as we could as fast as we could.
Gabby has her special place. One day, I am going to try her corn, I bet it is better than the corn we get because when her human pours it there, he calls for Gabby, he never calls any of the rest of us.
The storm is getting closer, and most of us have already gone back to our nests, but a few are trying to get all of the corn we can stuff our faces with.
Gabby was ignoring the calls from her mother and was hurrying to search for more to eat. My stomach growled at the thought of what she was eating. I wondered what could be better than corn.
When we saw the bolt of lightning hit somewhere near our home, we all ran away, even Gabby's human ran. But after that strike, the sky no longer had a dark glare, it looked as if that one bolt knocked the storm in the other direction, making the storm go away.
Gabby came running back to her spot. I was not far behind her. As I ran I thought one day when I get older I will beat her to this spot, and maybe her human will give me a name.
All photos are mine, some from today
You should give the storyteller a name too :)
Interesting story; from non-human perspective!

Thank you I will add the tag.
Yes I should have given the storyteller a name. I was thinking it was a younger squirrel sibling.
