This is my post for #freewriters 2423 prompt continuation hosted by @mariannewest.

When I was young, my cousins were my best friends, I saw them every Sunday when we went to Grandma's house for Sunday dinner. This is a tradition that has not been made a continuation into this day and age and it is a shame. I also saw them when they came to the inlet where I lived we had so much fun when we were all together.

The top photo is of me and some of my closest cousins, the one I was closest to was Pam, she is in the middle row on the right. She was Uncle Leonard's daughter. We were so close when she came to the inlet, you never saw one of us without the other.

In the late 1960's something happened between Dad and Uncle Leonard, I never knew what it was but my Uncle no longer came to the inlet. I missed Pam a lot. We lost touch with each other, years passed and the only time we saw one another was at a family funeral.

It saddens me that so much time has gone by without us seeing each other. I saw her a few years ago when our Aunt Elizabeth passed away, then I saw her again last year when Aunt Lily passed. This is her with Aunt Lily when Aunt Elizabeth passed.

Now I will be seeing her again this Saturday but it will not be a good visit, I will be driving to North Florida with one of my sisters and my oldest daughter to attend her husband of 42 years funeral.

It is a four hour drive, but not far from 2 lots that my Mom gave me 25 years ago and I have never seen. After the funeral, we will go to Pam's house for a visit, then dive to see the lots. We will get a hotel somewhere up that way, and then on Sunday on the way home we plan to stop in Jacksonville to see my brother's wife and then drive home.

It will be a long weekend so I do not know if I will have time to do any posting or reading, I will try but I might not post until Monday.
photos are mine

It must be not easy to not be able to stay in touch with the dearest one! However, you will see your best pal in this old age, even though the situation is not joyful!

Looks like you have many plans for this weekend. Good luck :)

Thank you, I did not tell her that I was coming so she was surprised and said I made her day happier, and even though the circumstances were heartbreaking we had a nice visit.
