Keep Going

Since around 3 a.m. today, the rain has been falling heavily and continuously. The cold is more intense than in the past few days. The fog is also thicker than before. While the weather feels nice to live in, the dampness and a sense of emotional heaviness are quite present.

What made things worse was a mistake I made this evening an error during a money transfer. It wasnt a major financial loss, so I had to calm my mind by reminding myself that it was a minor setback. Still, it was the first time Id ever made such a mistake, and because it was the first, I got very frustrated with myself. Normally, I double-check the recipients name twice before sending money. But today, I didnt pay close attention and just sent it based on a previously saved record. After a while, I asked the intended recipient if theyd received the money, only to realize I had sent it to the wrong person.

Of all the ways to be angry, being angry at yourself is perhaps the hardest to bear.

Outside, the rain kept pouring without pause. Some people were walking through the rain with umbrellas, going about their business. Just as the rain was doing its job raining people were doing theirs. And I, too, had made my mistake. Whats done is done. I must be more mindful next time and forgive myself. I have to keep going.
