Do The Math
When it comes to the apps on our phones. One of the most useless apps in many people phone(not all) is the calculator app. But what we dont know is that this app is very important than many of the apps we are using all day and night, doing some simple calvulations here and there could save our lives and help us in not making the wrong decision.
Many of life's problems are inflicting a lot of people for a simple fact that they cant do basic math and this is no exaggerating at all. I was talkiing with a dear friend today about how the cost of transportation from where i live to my place of work is getting out of hand to the extent that i spend more on transport on some days than i make at work.
Each time i do the math its not matching up...
The overall income is either in the debt range or zero range in a rough estimation. So this made me to start thinking about other ways that i could compromise on, because if i am to keep going like this it would be very difficult to survive talkless of growing the business to the extent of it bringing in return and finally in the profit margin.
All of this has been going through my head for some hours now until i used my calculator to make some calculations on how much is my tfare in a year and how much it could cost me if i did rent a single room apartment that's nearby. I did the math and i realized that renting an apartment would save me a lot of money than me coming everyday from a far distance location.
This got me thinking about how much problems we've added unto our live just for the simple fact that we cant do basic math to find out which decision weighs more financially.
Another occurrence that happens to a friend of mine was how he always eat out at an expensive restaurant even though he's got food stuffs at home. So after my little realization i talked to him to know how much hes spending on eating out and to see if it's the best decision when compared to cooking at home.
As always we all know where this is going but to give you a clear picture, if my friend eats out everyday of the year hes going to be able to use the money to buy an automobile that could start giving him returns weekly.
Cooking at home on the other hand would save a lot of money with other added benefits health wise but its really hard for some people to just sit their ass down to do it. Same with using their calculator to weighs the cost of their decisions. Tbh I've been a victim of this but moving forward i think my calculator would be a very handy app if not one of the most used ones because there's a lot of simple things we ignore that could compound to something bigger enough to eat us alive.
