A Bunch of Distractions

Lately, I'ts been easy to stay focused on task. Some would call it staying on business, too. Lol. But you get what I mean. I've not had to be this focused this much compared to the past few months of this year.

Currently, I've been able to gain clarity about a lot of things and this has made my goals a clear and concise one that I do not have to think about them anymore. I just do it and that's all.

How I've been able to achieve this is not so will power, discipline or some hard work bullshit, but just a simple removing the clusters and blockage to keep the river of focus flowing freely in my mind, so I don't have to find it difficult to focus.

The funny thing here is that its easy to do. I mean, the first part is effortless to do because at this point in the modern world, we all know where the corners are. All you've just got to do is to keep the corners clean as possible, then you have a clean room. Not just a photoshopped image of a clean room. But a clean room at all time, online and offline.

Our mind is like a room where we've got all types of stuff and thoughts coming in and going out according to what we want our room to be like.

If you're the type that craves just anything, then you'll fill your room with junks and materialistic in the sense that you're paying much attention to what you don't need while leaving little space for things you really do need and are beneficial to make your mind a laser focused one.

In the room of my mind I've got several stuffs that are merely a distraction. Meaning, they are taking too much space that I find it difficult to fit in the important stuff. In many people's home today, you'll easily find a huge TV set before you find a bookshelf around.

For the past fee months I've been doing a lot of cleaning, but it's just the simple stuff as I would rather not get easily tired by lifting all the heavy stuff and throwing them out all at once. I cringe at cold turkeys.

Since the beginning of the year, I've deleted most of the social media apps I use. I believe it's one of those things that takes up much of my time and mind space.

Have you ever seen yourself scrolling TikTok without sleeping late at night and realize it's already a new day again, and you've cheated nature? I bet many have, but most are too good to admit this openly. I've been there, done that, but this year I've been doing the cleaning and redesigning this room to have more space and I can clearly see it working well.

Today I only have X on my phone, but that too will be thrown out too to make room for more reading, pushups (at home), gym sessions and some activity like writing here on Hive.

To cut out a number of distractions in your life is not that hard. You've just got to do it (throw it out) rather than consider it to be a problem you have, thereby making it too heavy to lift.

Catch you next time
