Promoting the No-cane policy
All of us, who went to preschool, basic school, high school or even polytechnic, used to be caned every blessed day in school not only on the Monday morning alone. This always remained a horrifying experience and something which every student would prefer not to go through.
The occasions when the teacher strikes the cane on her palm with a help of the other one were enough to get shivers run down my spine. We understood that if we acted naughty or screwed something up, we would be whipped .
When growing up it was not only painful but also very demeaning to be punished this way. The following day we would go to school scared of what was ahead only to arrive home with marks of torture on our bodies. In this course, we experienced behavioral changes that impacted our psychological health and made us have a lot of fear in the presence of authority.
Well, it did not open our mind to the society or teach us anything, rather it only made us learn that one should obey and not do anything wrong for fear of being punished and secondly, it made us learn to always develop hatred for authority.
Today, majority of schools operate on no-cane rule, and instead of using a weapon to punish the students, schools practice positive reinforcements and remind them to act appropriately.
People advocate that instead of punishing learners, they should give them a chance to communicate, reasons, and advice. It has received blessings and acceptance from many parents, teachers, and experts in the field of education.
I personally endorse the idea of banning caning in school because I strongly believe that the practice should not be encouraged at all.
This is not the best approach to taking the kids to class and instead there are better ways that can be adopted in disciplining the students and at the same time teaching them the consequences of their wrong doings.
No correction ought to be administered as a primary method, but rather as a final step when other approaches are ineffective. I ask what bringing back canes into our schools would do to students of the two genders but to keep on scaring and resenting them in order to encourage them to learn is not in any way good for their education.
In conclusion, having been caned in school is dangerous and was a negative one. That was unnecessary and only served to exacerbate a situation that should have been handled otherwise.
As much as caning may have been part of our society in the past, it is not something should entertain in the present. Instead let us change to better more modern and more humane ways of correction and making education environment friendly to everyone.

Thinking about it, caning was even the smallest of punishments then.😂
You would weed, pull your ears, stand on one leg and what have. It was more like we were living in a jungle.😂
Yeah, I also disagree
Let’s all just veer towards better and modern punishment because flogging is really not supposed to be on the list by this time
